One chocolate milk shake coming up!
On May 30th Dryden had a Renaissance Faire. We opened our famous milkbooth for a fundraiser which everybody loved. We all took shifts throughout the day. Our milkshake and cone choices were Strawberry, Chocolate, Vanilla, or Rum and Butter, which were served until we were all sticky! We even sold a few glasses of milk. Stay tuned, because we are all meeting up two Saturdays in a row on June 6th for our Mock Show. πŸ€

Yum!πŸ˜‹ On May 9th, our members, leaders, and family all pulled together with the help of some great support from our sponsors to have a Beef Dinner again. The doors opened at 5:30 and people started to flood in! Food was served at 6:15 pm, which was delicious! After the food we had some great prizes and people visited. To end the night, we drew our door prize which was a basket full of farm-fresh eggs. Because our club wouldn't be a club without the amazing support of our sponsors and community, our vice president, Ryan Perkins, truly ended the night with a thank you!

A special Thanks to our sponsors!

The first meeting of The Pizza Thieves 4-H Pizza club was held on April 12 in the DDAS kitchen. We learned about kitchen safety and a little bit about each other during our game called the tomato toss. We also learned how to knead pizza dough as we made our own homemade pizza dough. Then we made pizza roses using crescent dough. Everyone left with full bellies and leftovers to share with our families.

Hello! This is Blakely Kellar and Sophie Kriese reporting! On April 2nd, the 4H Beef Club held their meeting at the Koshel's house. We discussed our fundraisers and we went over the fine details of our upcoming Beef Dinner. If you are interested in a fun evening, talk to a 4H member about getting a ticket! We will have great food and prizes, along with some cheery 4-H faces to entertain you for the evening. The Mock Show is right around the corner and coming quickly! We will possibly have a clinician coming to teach us more about clipping our 4-H project animals. After the business part of our meeting, our leader, Amy Kriese, had yet another judging competition activity for us . Who would have guessed it? We judged eggs, and included was a carton of Easter eggs for Easter, of course. To keep things busy, our leader, Linda Debney, had a safety knot lesson to educate us on tying up animals safely. To end the meeting we had a delicious snack made by Emischs and Ayers, consisting of quail deviled eggs, cereal cake, watermelon, and pretzels. Happy Easter everyone!

On March 8th the 4H Beef Club held their meeting outside in the sunshine! It was held outside, because we were learning/watching bull semen testing which was taught by Dr. Rebecca Cornell. We learnt how to take samples and what to look for in good bulls. Thank you to Willie and Lionel for being our test subjects (they both passed the test) and Mr. Koshel for getting them ready and letting us use them. And a big thank you Dr. Cornell for coming all the way from Devlin to teach us!
We finished our meeting with a discussion about fundraising. The milkbooth will be open for business at the Renaissance Fair on May 30th at the fairgrounds! Don't worry, this doesn't mean we are not opening the milkbooth at the Fall fair! We also decided to have a Beef Dinner again this year. The Beef Dinner is on May 9th. So keep your eye out for tickets that will be for sale soon! Submitted by Sophie Kriese

Hi! On February 19th the beef club had a rip-roaring meeting. We started it off with our elections for the club positions. The President position went to Levi Debney. Ryan Perkins took on Vice President. For the other positions, we did something different this year! Since our circle is growing (19 members!), we split the positions into shared roles. Betje Tobin and Ramona Kriese signed up for secretary. Sophie Kriese and Blakely Kellar took on Press Reporter. Last, but not least at all, the Skene boys, Arthur and Ben, signed up for Treasurer. Math experts!πŸ˜‰ Amy organized a judging competition, so we can work at becoming expert judges. We judged pencils! πŸ˜„Charlie shared with everyone how to find out how much weight their animal needs to gain until achievement day using their hip height measurement. So far everyone's animals are doing great! We ended our meeting with a group picture. πŸ“·

Hello! On January 31st the 4-H Beef Club had their first fundraiser of the year. Can you guess it? The Trappers dinner! We were asked to be at the Ag centre by 4:00 p.m. We served the food prepared by other volunteers and then spent the rest of the evening in the kitchen washing dishes and cleaning up. We had such a fun night together that it didn't seem like work. The Beef Club is grateful to have opportunities to participate in our local community events.πŸ€

Hey, 4-H Beef Club is back again! Happy New Year Everyone! We had our first meeting at the Koshel's house on January 22nd at 6:30 pm. We would like to introduce our 5 new members: Blakely, Ben, Finn, Annalise, and Keifer. We'd also like to welcome our new leaders, Kalum, and a familiar friend in the beef industry, Linda, who have joined Lisa and Amy in beef club leadership! We started our meeting off with an icebreaker game to learn a little more about each other. We brainstormed about things we'd like to learn or see this year. We read about the benefits and the history of 4-H, along with our club rules and expectations. We planned when our meetings will be, followed with a plan of who will bring snack. We had tim bits and iced tea to finish off our meeting.
