A sincere thank you to the wonderful Meridian teams who joined us last Wednesday and this Tuesday to support our housing project in Saugeen First Nation at 6 Village Road!

Across both volunteer days, the team rolled up their sleeves and tackled a wide range of tasks to help move the homes closer to completion. Volunteersinstalled insulation, sanded and painted surfaces, and on Tuesday's team, took on major deck construction work — pouring concrete, operating the saw, nailing, and helping build the decks that will become an important part of these future homes.

We're incredibly grateful for the support and commitment shown by everyone who joined us. Thank you for being part of the journey and helping us build stronger communities, one home at a time. 💙🔨

A huge thank you to the Rexel team for their incredible support of this Habitat build on Tuesday at French Bay Road in Saugeen First Nation! Through their partnership with Prysmian Cables, they supplied the electrical materials needed for the home and had the unique opportunity to help install products that their companies provide and manufacture.

Seeing the team work hands-on with the very electrical solutions they help bring to projects every day made this build especially meaningful. Their dedication and commitment to giving back helped ensure the home was equipped with safe, reliable electrical infrastructure for its future homeowners.

We're grateful for their dedication, expertise, and commitment to building stronger communities—one home at a time. ⚡🏠💙

A big thank you to the dedicated group from KNECT - Knox Elora Care Team who came up from Elora for two days last Thursday & Friday for our build site at 6 Village Rd, Saugeen First Nation! 🏡

The team spent their time alongside our crew helping deconstruct existing porches and decks and build new ones, making an important contribution to the project while gaining a firsthand look at the work involved in creating safe, quality housing within our community. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and willingness to jump in wherever needed made a positive impact on the site.

Over the two days, significant progress was made as old structures were carefully removed and new porches and decks began to take shape. The team embraced every task with a great attitude, worked safely, and demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting the project from start to finish.

We're grateful for their time, hard work, and dedication to helping strengthen housing opportunities in Saugeen First Nation. Partnerships like these help move projects forward while creating meaningful connections and shared experiences.

We were thrilled to welcome students last Wednesday from St. Mary’s Highschool () through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) for another day on our build site! 🔨🏠

The students spent the day helping our team demolish old decks and clear the area for future construction within sites in Saugeen Ojibway Nation. They brought plenty of energy, worked safely, and showed a strong willingness to learn while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the skilled trades.

One of the more exciting parts of the day was uncovering a few hidden "treasures" beneath the decks. From forgotten items to interesting relics from years past, the discoveries added a little extra fun to the demolition work!

We're grateful for OYAP's continued partnership and the opportunity to connect students with real-world construction experience while working toward affordable housing in our community. Their hard work and enthusiasm made a meaningful contribution to the project.

Thank you to the students and staff for spending the day with us—we always enjoy having OYAP on site and look forward to welcoming more students in the future. 💙

We were so happy to welcome students from Saugeen District Senior School through OYAP (Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program) to our build site yesterday! 🔨🏠

These hardworking high school students spent the day within Saugeen Ojibway Nation to help demolish old patios and decks, making way for the next phase of construction. They jumped right in, worked safely and efficiently, and weren't afraid to get their hands dirty.

Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and willingness to learn made a big impact on the site. We were also pleased to welcome members of the OYAP team who came to see the students' hard work in action.

We’re incredibly grateful for OYAP’s support and contribution to our build projects. Partnerships like this help provide valuable hands-on experience for students while helping us build safe, affordable housing in our community. 💙

Thank you again to OYAP and the SDSS students and staff for spending the day with us—we hope to see you back on site again soon!

We were excited to welcome the team back to site for another amazing Team Build Day last Thursday! 🔨🏠

As a our Legacy Partner, continues to make a meaningful impact through both their partnership and hands-on volunteer support. During this build, the team spent the day installing siding and working on flooring at our five house build on French Bay Road in Saugeen First Nation.

We're hoping to complete these homes at the end of June and once we do, will have built 42 homes within Saugeen Ojibway Nation — helping strengthen families and communities through affordable homeownership. 💙

Thank you again to the team for dedicating their time, energy, and support to this important work!
