Thank you to everyone that came out and made the 2026 Closing Day a great way to wrap up the season!
2026 was extra special for Owen Sound Minor Baseball. This year, more than 360 young athletes took part in House League baseball from 5U through 18U, with more than 400 players wearing a Baysox uniform when our Junior and Senior Baysox programs are included. That kind of growth is something our entire baseball community can be proud of!
Closing Day was a great opportunity to celebrate the players, recognize our award winners and thank the many people who helped make the season happen. As OSMB President Jesse Edmunds shared on Sunday: “Our players may not remember every score from this season. But they will remember the coaches who made baseball fun. They will remember the coaches who encouraged them. And they will remember the coaches who made them feel like they belonged.”
A huge THANK YOU to every coach, assistant coach, convenor, umpire, Board member, volunteer, sponsor and community partner who helped make the 2026 season happen. And to our parents and families: thank you for getting everyone to the ballpark, cheering from the stands and supporting our players and volunteers all season long.
We'd also like to give a special Closing Day shout-out to our sponsors of the day! Your support helped make Sunday’s celebrations extra special, and we are incredibly grateful for your investment in our players and our baseball community.
Thank you, Zehrs
Thank you, Believer Coffee Company
Thank you, Melissa Olmsted A Caring Soul. Offering 24 hour in home private care.
And, of course, to our players: we are so proud of you! Whether you hit your first home run, caught your first fly ball, learned a new position, made a new friend or simply grew a little more confident every time you stepped onto the diamond -you accomplished something this season. The trophies and medals are great, but it's the friendships, funny dugout moments, big hits, great catches and memories made together that make baseball special.
Thank you for making 2026 a season to remember. We can't wait to see everyone back on the diamonds in 2027!
