The Sydenham Sportsmen's Association is an organization in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada who's purpose is to promote Conservationism.We also have some of the best shooting ranges in Ontario,Hand gun,22 rifle,100 yd hy power,2 trap fields,10 st. and 100 yd. ) 2 trap fields with single trap , wobble and doubles , 1 skeet field and a brand new 10 station sporting range that is handicap accessible . We offer Cowboy action , defensive pistol and partisan shoots and a new 10 station archery course .

Hi All; AUG 31 - Derby results are in!

There were 72 salmon and 128 trout entered today for a total of 200.

There was a change in the salmon leader:
Sam Jenson, New Hamburg, 11.56 kg, 25.66 lb

Leading Trout and Leading Lake Trout
Thomas Moore, 10.84 kg 24.06 lb

Leading Rainbow Trout, William Hanna, 5.205 kg, 11.56 lb

Leading Brown Trout remains
Joel Benninger, Hanoverm 1.47 kg, 3.24 lb

We're with Miss Shaylyn tonight at the McDonald's Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular and she is spectacular! Her voice is out of this world. You can stop by tonight to hear her and grab some merch from her table! It's a $5 cover charge to get in and there's plenty of room for you!

Family Derby Fishing Story

Gotta love these guys, Matt, Jack and Ashley - such a cute fishing family! Ashley reeled the big one in but Jack(the brave boy) helped in the boat. It was 17.5lbs Salmon. Caught this morning. 2 other knock offs which didn’t give us any more fish.

Jack noticed the rod go off, Ash jumped up and started fighting it right away. The fight lasted about 10 mins and even with the fish’s best efforts with jumping and running, Ash was able to bring the fish to the back of the boat to be netted by Matt(hubby).

We put the same lure down right away and got another hit but didn’t manage to produce a fish.

How's that for family moments!
