El Sistema is a publicly-funded music education program founded in Venezuela nearly forty years ago by musician José Antonio Abreu. Since then, the program - aimed at serving youth from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds - has been adopted by communities around the world. For a few hours, three days a week, El Sistema Grey Bruce students will receive free music education in a safe and caring

environment, led by qualified teachers, mentors, coaches. By providing this experience, ESGB strives to instill lifelong skills such as discipline and ownership, as well as a sense of pride and belonging. These skills, in turn, will not only cultivate dedicated musicians but also nurture responsible, caring citizens who will have the capacity to transform and strengthen their community.
