A couple interviews with a few of this year's guests & volunteers! 🎤

I had the privilege of welcoming my oldest nephew to the GBCWF this year, which was an overwhelmingly happy, full-circle moment. It took me half the day to get my emotions in check. As a coordinator here, this is my why!
It is amazing that this hands-on, fun & educational event is here for all our local youth 🎉

Today we recognize and the important role that conservation authorities play in protecting our natural environment. 🐢

This is a busy time for wildlife. Please slow down and watch for turtles and other animals crossing roadways.

Turtle nesting season is fast approaching! Become at Turtle Stewardship Volunteer and help us support local turtle populations through data collection, nest protection, hatchling monitoring, and public education. Learn more: www.greysauble.on.ca/turtle-stewardship-program

If you see a turtle nesting, report your sighting to: [email protected]

If you find an injured or deceased turtle, contact the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre at 705-741-5000 or the S.T.A.R.T. hotline at 705-955-4284.

Funding for the Turtle Stewardship Program in 2026 was generously provided by the Ontario Greenbelt, Community Foundation Grey Bruce, and Intersections Wood Collaborative.

On Wednesday, we had the most heart warming e-mail come in from a mom who attended our festival that day with her son. With permission, we are sharing her feedback. This touched the hearts of all our committee members. It's smiles like this that fuel our passion to keep this festival going. We hope every student who attends our festival experiences this sense of joy while learning how important water is to us! 🩵💧
Hats off to our volunteers who help make this experience enjoyable for our guests!
And to our sponsors, this is exactly what you're funding by choosing to support the GBCWF - we couldn't do it without you, thank you! 😊

Today is Water Festival Eve.
Tomorrow we open the doors and start to bring in our anticipated 1,200 Grade 4 students over the next 3 days. None of this would be possible without our incredible 2026 Grey Bruce Children's Water Festival Sponsors! Each of them play a vital role in supporting this festival and we are forever grateful. 🩵
