Can we apply for an existing program?

Community Grants are intended for new or expanding projects and programs. Funding is generally not intended to maintain an organization's regular programming or ongoing operating expenses.

If you are expanding or significantly enhancing an existing program, explain what is new and how the grant will help make that expansion possible.

Can we apply for something we've already started?

No. Projects that begin before the grant application is submitted are not eligible.

Can we include administration costs?

Yes. Project administration costs can make up up to 25% of the total project budget, provided the expenses are directly related to delivering the proposed project.

General organizational operating expenses are not eligible.

Can we purchase equipment?

Yes. Small capital purchases of up to $1,500 can be included in a Community Grant application when they are connected to the project.

Capital requests exceeding $1,500 should be directed to the Capital Grant program (Letters of Intent open Jan 31st 2027)

Fall Community Grants are OPEN! 🍂

Technology can create connection when it's designed with inclusion in mind.

Last year, Community Foundation Grey Bruce awarded $3,199 to Reach Centre Grey Bruce for Boundaries and Bridges, a project that developed an app to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn how to build safe, positive online relationships in a supportive environment.

The app mirrors familiar social media platforms while providing a safe space to learn digital skills. It also includes a caregiver dashboard, giving families an additional tool to support safe online experiences. Designed to be scalable, it has the potential to benefit many more people in the future.

This is the kind of innovative impact Community Grants can have across Grey Bruce.

Fall Community Grants are OPEN! 🍂

Last year, Community Foundation Grey Bruce awarded $3,375 to Grey Sauble Conservation Authority for its Building Connection Through Conservation: Turtle Nest Protectors Workshop Series. Community members came together to learn woodworking skills, build turtle nest protectors, and help conserve local turtle populations, all while fostering connection, confidence, and environmental stewardship.

Together, participants built 41 turtle nest protectors, which were installed throughout the watershed to help protect vulnerable turtle nests during the 2026 nesting season. The workshops also inspired participants to continue supporting conservation efforts as volunteers.

This is the kind of impact Community Grants can have across Grey Bruce.

🎓 Celebrating our 2026 Scholarship, Bursary & Education Award Recipients!

So far this year, Community Foundation Grey Bruce has awarded 96 education awards totaling $141,369 to support students from across Grey and Bruce as they pursue university, college, skilled trades, apprenticeships and other educational opportunities.

Interest was especially strong during our main intake, with 100 students submitting 304 applications for 31 scholarship opportunities — a 61% increase in student applicants from last year!

From healthcare and skilled trades to agriculture, media, music, science and more, we’re proud to help local students take the next steps toward their goals.

A big thank you to our volunteer reviewers, local schools, donors and fundholders who make these opportunities possible. 💙

Congratulations to all of our 2026 recipients! 🎉
