🐾ADOPT PEACHES — HER ADOPTION FEE IS SPONSORED! 🐾

Peaches has been waiting for HER person for over two years. Two years in a shelter with barely a second glance. She came to us in November, moved into foster care, and has been an absolute star ever since — and yet the world still hasn't noticed her. We're not okay with that.

So today, one of our incredible followers stepped up and sponsored her ENTIRE adoption fee. All that's left to find her is the right home. 💛

She is a 3 year old mixed breed, 65lbs currently being fostered in Toronto.

A little about this goofball:

She's smart, silly, cuddly, energetic, and outgoing — sometimes all in one afternoon. She has an absolutely magnificent big bully head that she uses to melt hearts on command. And her signature move? Every time she sits, she slouches into a full-body puddle and stares off into the distance like she's forgotten how bones work. It's a whole personality trait.

Peaches is obsessed with her foster brother, loves carrying around (and destroying) fluffy toys, and will take cuddles literally any time you're offering.

She's crate trained, settles well for up to 8 hours or overnight with a little distraction toy, and thrives on a good routine — walks, sniffy time, and zoomies included. She's a work in progress in the best way: still building her leash manners, learning to settle after the zoomies, and mastering the art of peeing outside (pooping? Fully sorted, no notes). She also loves the water and is a great adventure buddy!

Peaches would love a dog sibling to wrestle with— no cats, please, and kids 12+. Her people should have some large breed experience, a fenced backyard for potty breaks and play, and plenty of patience and love for a girl who is so ready to give it all back.

Big moment for Sadie this week. We've been closing off her pen when we're home (it's still her safe space overnight and when we're out, but we're working on encouraging her to feel comfortable outside of it too, and be more part of the gang).

She has a little bed in the living room she loves — usually if I so much as approach her, she's up and gone. But yesterday, for the first time ever, she stayed. She let me slowly come over, sit beside her, and pet her — with a little moral support from her foster sister Gigi. Even got a few kisses in. 🥹

Will it stick? Honestly, not sure — we are expecting some regression, that's just how it goes with a girl who's still learning the world is safe. But it's a real sign she's starting to feel a little less scared, one small trust-fall at a time.

(Still very much a work in progress with men — one step at a time.)

🐾 Sadie Update 🐾

Sadie has been with us since January 2nd, and while her journey is a slow one, every tiny step forward is something to celebrate.

Yesterday brought a beautiful first: while petting her, she actually looked like she was enjoying it — and I even got a few little kisses. For a girl who still runs when we approach and won't come back inside unless we give her space and walk away out of her sight, that moment meant everything.

Sadie may never be a cuddly, in-your-lap kind of dog, and that's okay. What she's showing us is that she can learn to coexist with her people, on her own terms. Potty training has been a challenge since she won't take treats and bolts if we acknowledge her too directly — but her canine housemates have quietly stepped in as teachers, and we're seeing real progress with fewer messes overnight and while we're away.

This morning she raced outside first, and when the other dogs came out to join her, you could see how thrilled she was to have them there. Little moments like this tell us she's finding her confidence, bit by bit. 🌞

We want to see a little more progress before Sadie is ready for adoption. When she is, she'll need a very special home — one with the patience to let her grow at her own pace, without pushing, and the heart to be happy simply coexisting with a dog who doesn't ask for much beyond quiet companionship and respect for her space.

Pêche / F / 2Y / 21lbs / Poodle mix / Fostered in Owen Sound

Sweet, cuddly, and calm, Pêche is the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home. Her favourite things in life are simple: a good nap, belly rubs, playing with balls, and most of all, being with her people. She's shy when meeting new people at first and likes to warm up on her own terms — a few treats definitely help break the ice! But once she trusts you, that sweet, loving side comes right out.

Her leash manners are excellent — she happily trots along beside you, just thrilled to be going wherever you're going. And she LOVES car rides. Genuinely, it's hard to leave the house without her trying to tag along!
Pêche already knows sit, down, and shake a paw (both paws, on request!). She's currently working on holding her sit/down a little longer before popping back up for her treat — she's an eager student, just a little impatient for that reward.

Fully potty trained with 4-5 breaks a day. She's said to be crate trained by her previous owner, though in her foster home she's been free roam and does great — she's always waiting right at the door when you get home.

Pêche has mild separation anxiety — she'll whine when you leave and gets very excited (happy front-paw jumps!) when you return, but settles down with a little guidance and a minute to calm herself. She's not a fan of being left alone for long stretches, so a home where someone is around often, or who can bring her along on daily adventures, would suit her best. Loud noises can startle her, though she's not generally fearful. She doesn't guard anything and is great with dogs and kids (cats are still a mystery — no feline experience yet!).

Her ideal home: A family with kids, someone home often or willing to include her in everyday outings, and ideally a small dog sibling to play with. She's not asking for much — just love, belly rubs, and someone to be with. 🍑💕
