Since 1922, Shriner’s Hospitals for children have served children in North America.

"As Shriners, we look beyond ourselves to serve the needs of others, especially children who cannot help themselves."*
The majority of our time is dedicated to the support of the Shriners Hospitals. These hospitals provide outstanding care for children who have orthopaedic problems or have been severely burned. Both in-patient and out-patient care is given to children from infancy to their 18th bi

rthday at no cost to the patient or family regardless of race, religion, or relationship to a Shriner. The Shrine Hospital network currently includes 22 hospitals – 10 orthopaedic units and three burn institutes. In addition to patient care, these hospitals are actively engaged in teaching and research programs in order to expand the benefits of the Shrine Hospital system. Shriner’s Hospitals for Children are now a member of the Mayo Clinic Network, a national network of organizations committed to better serving patients and their families through physical collaboration. The network will allow Shriner’s Hospitals to offer providers and patients convenient access to additional expertise from the Mayo Clinic. There are currently eight children in this area being sponsored by the Ramoca Shrine Club in Owen Sound for treatment at the Shriner’s Hospital in Montreal. The recently opened new hospital is attached to McGill University. The Potentate/CEO and Executive in Toronto and other jurisdictions are volunteers and do not receive a salary. Shriner’s Hospitals are supported by donations and sale of Christmas cakes, Lottery Tickets and other fund raising activities.
