Aux Services d’Archives italo-canadiennes du Québec, nous conservons de nombreuses publications communautaires rares, notamment Il Lavoratore, Insieme et les premiers numéros de Panoram Italia Magazine. Aujourd’hui, nous avons également découvert quelques numéros de Il Ponte (1978-1979). Nous recherchons des personnes qui auraient des renseignements sur ce quotidien. N’hésitez pas à nous contacter!

At the Italian-Canadian Archives of Quebec, we hold many rare community publications, including Il Lavoratore, Insieme, and the earliest issues of Panoram Italia. Oh this looks like lots of fun! And very interesting!

☀️ What better way to embrace the sun than solar printing? On June 7, join us with artist Sonia Bazar for Atelier de cyanotype / Cyanotype Workshop.

Participants are invited to create their own cyanotype print using pre-treated cyanotype fabric, found plant matter and personal household items. During the workshop, Bazar will guide guests in creating their pieces, and will demonstrate how the medium is used in her artistic practice. Upon bringing the cyanotypes home, prints can be stitched into a tote bag, hoodie, or even a quilt for an added special touch. All levels of experience are welcome!

Canadian troops played an important role in defeating fascism in Italy. Just outside Ravenna a few years ago we stopped at a small family-run restaurant. The elderly gentleman who greeted us welcomed us with open arms as he reminded us of that role.

Today, we celebrate the defeat of the fascists in Italy.

In 2019, I travelled with the Canadian veterans to commemorate the Battle of Italy. Near Ravena, we were asked to pull off on a side road to meet the local people. We were met by aged partisans with their battle flags. They wanted to pay tribute to their Canadian comrades.

Together, they stopped the fascists.
Never again fascist. Never again.
