Before the coffee gets cold...

Call your mum or your friend or your grandpa.

Stand in the garden when the rain begins, just to remember that not everything that falls is something to run from.

Tell people you love them in the ordinary moments -
over burnt toast,
at red lights,
while looking for lost keys -
because love sounds truest when it isn't waiting for a perfect moment.

Read the book with the folded corners and crumpled cover.
Wear the dress that you're saving for best.
Take the long way home if the sky asks you to.
Learn the names and the songs of the birds that keep choosing your morning.

Forgive more quickly than your pride thinks you should.
Laugh loudly enough to make tomorrow jealous.

Write the letter. Plant the seed. Watch the sunset without trying to photograph the proof.

Because time rarely leaves with a slammed door. It slips quietly through ordinary Tuesdays, through half-finished conversations, through cups that slowly cool while we promise ourselves, later.

So dance in the kitchen. Order the dessert. Say sorry. Say thank you. Say, I'm glad you're here.

And whatever it is that your heart keeps placing
at the top of tomorrow's list - do it.

Before the coffee gets cold.
