As someone who was appalled by the headdress incident and the artic costume at miss universe Canada.

Especially right after experiencing how amazing Miss indigenous Canada - and how high our standards were was baffling these gaps still exist today.

Emma Morrison & Ashley Callingbull voices eased my anger because their experience in the pageant world. They addressed it so meaningfully and gracefully. Yes it should be addressed it was incredibly ignorant the incident. But they did it where they offered solution - and when Ashley acknowledged it on stage it showed that it was not gonna be swept under the rug. I was so proud of the response.

But this type of response is unwarranted. The video one of the director sends is unbelievable & causes more harm than good. Maybe not use to accountability? It’s definitely uncomfortable but Ashley set the tone of let’s move forward and learn.

Our Miss Indigenous Canada Brooke Metchewais from Cold Lake Alberta! She represented for the Cree ladies. She has 19 sisters across turtle island to lift her up and she represents proudly!

I proudly represented Ochapowace fn! Made top 10, won people’s choice award & charitable giving award.

Fundraising 11,000 for Sunshine House Charity. And the overall group fundraising 47,000! That’s what happens when ask a group of indigenous women/ 2 spirit of a task we show up! So proud of all of us for pushing ourselves outside our comfort zone! Being so open and vulnerable - we laughed and we cried but most importantly we gave each other love, guidance and confidence! 🤎🤎🤎🎀💗

tomorrow it all comes to an end. But this experience and sisterhood will last a lifetime. Since I received the letter to be a delegate - I was so happy to be able to participate.

My first fundraiser I was legit having a panic attack the day before. Every time I tried to put myself out there that fear always linger. But you just do it. No matter what! Do it crying if you have to. Put yourself out into the world.

If i didn’t sign up - I not only would have never had an amazing year of community, fundraisers for charity, investing in healing and travelling far from home - I would of did my self a great disservice. I am leaving this a transformed women - with 19 new sisters all over turtle island.

A life changing week of sisterhood LOTS OF LAUGHTER and uplifting. Each women loves their home so much - that fire and drive is exactly why we invest in our women. Thank you to delegates for filling my heart with such good medicine. This year I needed that - I feel so uplifted like I can walk on water eee. But the power is real.
