Help Save Petrie Island Canoe Club 🛶💛

The Petrie Island Canoe Club has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise enough funding to cover the boathouse’s operating costs for one year. Without this support, the Club will be forced to close on November 1.

Local businesses can help through a conditional donation-matching program, setting a maximum amount they are willing to match. Funds are only contributed if the campaign reaches its fundraising target.

Participating businesses will receive public recognition, an official tax receipt for eligible contributions, and long-term visibility on PICC’s 40-foot Thank You banner at Petrie Island, which will remain on display for three years.

Aidez à sauver le Petrie Island Canoe Club 🛶💛

Le Petrie Island Canoe Club a lancé une campagne GoFundMe afin de récolter suffisamment de fonds pour couvrir les frais de fonctionnement du hangar à bateaux pendant un an. Sans ce soutien, le club sera contraint de fermer ses portes le 1er novembre.

Les entreprises locales peuvent apporter leur aide grâce à un programme conditionnel de contrepartie des dons, en fixant le montant maximal qu’elles sont prêtes à verser. Les fonds ne seront versés que si la campagne atteint son objectif de collecte.

Les entreprises participantes bénéficieront d’une reconnaissance publique, d’un reçu fiscal officiel pour les contributions éligibles et d’une visibilité à long terme sur la banderole de remerciement de 40 pieds du PICC, située sur l’île Petrie, qui restera en place pendant trois ans.

Chatelaine Village Residents — What would you like to ask the 2026 City Councillor candidates?

With the 2026 municipal election approaching, we want to hear directly from Chatelaine Village residents about the issues that matter most to our community.

We’ve created a short survey where you can submit questions you’d like the Orléans East-Cumberland City Councillor candidates to address.

What would you like to ask?

Some ideas include:

🚗 Roads, traffic and transportation
🌳 Parks, recreation and community spaces
🏗️ Development and growth
❄️ Snow clearing and infrastructure
🚒 Public safety
💰 Property taxes and city services
🌱 Environmental issues
👨‍👩‍👧 Support for families, seniors and residents
💬 Or anything else you believe deserves attention

The questions should come from you. Whether it’s an issue affecting your street, your family, our neighbourhood, or the future of our community, we want to hear it.

The questions gathered from residents will be reviewed and consolidated, and asked directly to the candidates during a live Q&A session on October 14, 2026.
