🪽This embroidered sweater was a custom design for fellow loss mom, Kasandra, in honour of her baby boy, Tober, who died shortly before a scheduled c-section on October 23, 2024.

🦊 The design was inspired by the logo for the Dear Tober podcast, co-hosted by Kasandra, where they have open conversations about grief, loss and hope.

Addison Eva, our IVF miracle was born on December 18, 2025 at 41+3 (our little girl was so comfy in there!). Complications during labour resulted in Addy having a lack of oxygen to her brain (HIE) which resulted in her passing on December 19th, 2025.

Addy was a fighter from the moment she was born, she was transferred from the Ottawa Civic Hospital to the CHEO NICU where she fought tirelessly until she could no longer fight. Addison passed away peacefully in her daddy’s arms with her mom right beside her. Addison will forever be the little angel who made us parents and we will continue to say her name for the rest of our days. 🤍🦋

xx Maria & Nick, Addison’s mom & dad

✦ ✦ ✦

These are more than stories; they are real lives and deeply loved babies, shared openly in hopes of breaking the silence around baby loss. Together, we can create safe space to say our babies’ names.

✨While no one ever wants this loss community to grow, connecting with other loss families through Threads for Flora has been deeply meaningful and incredibly beautiful. One of those meaningful connections was meeting Addison’s mom. She carries such grace, compassion, hope, and love rooted in her baby Addison. Meeting her has inspired me even more to continue this work.

It also reminded me of the power of symbols, like the butterfly. It’s ok to let symbols, whatever they may be, bring moments of hope, comfort, and joy.🦋

For Everitt “EV” 🤍🐇💗
Memorial Frame Collection
6” round hoop

✦ ✦ ✦

Everitt, or EV (ee-vee) as we call her, was our first child. Motherhood wasn’t something I was sure was in the cards for me, so finding out I was pregnant with EV was such a shock and a joy.

At our anatomy scan it was discovered that my cervix was incredibly short (1.1cm). For context, anything under 2.5cm is a concern. By the time MFM could see me just over a week later, there was only 0.3cm left. It was then we knew that everything would not be what we expected. EV hung on until August 14th, at 11:40pm, born at 23+6, just 20 minutes shy of 24 weeks. At 1lb 7oz, she had size on her side. Together we spent 70 days at the General, then 48 more at CHEO. Those 118 days challenged me in ways I never thought possible, but also remain the most precious gift I have ever received. I treasure all of the time we got to spend together. EV fought to be with us every day and she gave us absolutely everything she had. In December it became clear that the fight was too much for her and she passed away after 118 days with us. We’re so grateful to Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice for making it possible for us to have some sort of homecoming. EV passed peacefully there, surrounded by loving family.

This beautiful piece hangs as another loving reminder of my sweet lady, my baby bunny and the beautiful time we shared together.

xx Emma and Devin, EV’s mom and dad

✦ ✦ ✦

Thank you, Emma and Devin, for your openness in sharing your precious baby and her story. EV’s legacy continues through the love and advocacy you carry forward. I know EV is so proud.

🩶🌿 Sweatshirt in Purple provided by customer
🪡 Hand Embroidery in Cream by Threads for Flora

This one was thoughtfully ordered by a loss mom for a loss mom – a meaningful colour, in honour of a beautiful little life 💜🪽

✦ ✦ ✦

After years of hoping for a baby, Violet became our IVF miracle. At 16 weeks, Violet was diagnosed with trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), with no immediate health concerns.

The diagnosis was initially very difficult, wondering what Violet’s life would look like. However, we were so excited to meet Violet and show her unconditional love.

At 35 weeks, fluid was discovered around her lungs and heart, and she was closely monitored by a team of high risk doctors.

At 36 weeks +1 day, Violet was delivered by c-section. She spent 5 days in the Ottawa General NICU before being transferred to CHEO, where she bravely fought for 16 more days.

Despite her strength and resilience, Violet developed an infection that led to sepsis. After just 21 days on this earth, Violet passed away peacefully in her mom’s arms on October 3, 2025, surrounded by immense love.

Violet will always be our first baby, and lives forever in our hearts💜

xx Katie & Jordan, Violet’s mom and dad

✨ The beginning of 2025 was full of hope and anticipation as we prepared to welcome our baby after two early losses. The middle of 2025 was heavy and painful as we said goodbye to our baby girl far too soon. The end of 2025 was the beginning of Threads for Flora, which gave me purpose when I needed it the most.

🙏Thank you for every order, every donation, every share, every open conversation, every effort to educate yourself about the realities of pregnancy and infant loss, and every time you spoke Flora’s name.

🤍 Most importantly, thank you to my fellow bereaved families for sharing your stories and your babies. You are not alone.

I am humbled to share that:
✨ $470 was raised in under three months
✨ 6 families received a donated custom keepsake in honour of their babies. Finn, Idris, Tober, Johnny, Everitt, and Violet: you are remembered, always. 🦋

✦ ✦ ✦

In February 2022 I had a corneal ectopic pregnancy. It was just 3 days after my first positive pregnancy test when it ruptured. I had collapsed at home, was rushed to the hospital and had my life saved by the amazing staff at the hospital and quick thinking of the OB on call that day.

A corneal ectopic pregnancy is very rare — only about 2–4% of all ectopic pregnancies. It happens when a pregnancy implants high up in the corner of the uterus, in a spot where the fallopian tube goes through the uterine wall and has many blood vessels. The risk of mortality is higher than with other ectopic pregnancies due to the risk of profuse bleeding.

Even though it is rare, it is a real pregnancy loss, and the grief that comes with it is real too. That day I was lucky to have the OB I did as he made the decision to do everything in his power to save my uterus and the other remaining fallopian tube. He is the reason I am now blessed with my 2 amazing children. 🤍

Many families with living children have walked through loss too, a gentle reminder that we don’t always know the stories people carry. Kindness and compassion can go a long way.

For Finn 🌈🤍
Memorial Frame Collection
6” round hoop

✦ ✦ ✦

This embroidered piece was made in honour of our son, Finn, who entered the world and left it far too quickly. Finn passed away unexpectedly just a few hours after birth, but his presence has shaped our lives forever. We hang this piece in Finn’s nursery, where it brings a quiet warmth to the space that was meant for him. Every stitch is a reminder that Finn is woven into our home and into our hearts. We’re deeply grateful for this beautiful tribute to our sweet boy.

xx Sandra & Scott, Finn’s mom and dad

✦ ✦ ✦

In the baby loss community, parents often find a symbol that helps keep their baby’s presence close. When I learned rainbows are the symbol Sandra and Scott hold for Finn, I knew I wanted to embroider a piece with rainbows. Designing and stitching this for their precious boy was such an honour.

It is beautiful how friendships can form through loss. Connecting with Sandra after Flora died has meant so much. Her honesty, and love for Finn has helped validate my own feelings while reminding me that hope can grow alongside grief.

The cost of your Threads for Flora purchase includes materials + labour + a donation towards a custom embroidered keepsake, like this one, for a family who has lost a baby through pregnancy or infant loss. See link in bio and highlights for order form.

For Idris 🦋🌳⭐️
Memorial Frame Collection
6” round hoop

✦ ✦ ✦

Our son, Idris, passed suddenly in the third trimester during an otherwise healthy pregnancy. There are no words to convey the depth of our grief and loss. Every day we miss him, and yet we see him everywhere: in trees, butterflies and even the stars above. Idris made us parents, and our love for him only continues to grow.

Leiya created Idris’ beautiful frame, in honour of his first birthday. What these frames represent is more than art; it’s compassion made tangible. We’re profoundly moved by her kindness and by the way Leiya honours not only Flora, but all the little ones who remain part of us always.

xx Laura & Julien, Idris’ mom and dad

✦ ✦ ✦

After creating MANY pieces in honour of Flora, I felt compelled to include other babies as well. I am so thankful to have met Laura and Julien shortly after we lost Flora. They were further along in their journey, and helped validate my feelings while giving me hope for the future. I absolutely loved designing and stitching this piece in honour of their beautiful boy, Idris.
