Today is a day of recognizing and reflection. On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, CUPE local 4000 honour the Survivors, remember the children who never came home and unite with Indigenous workers and communities fighting for sovereignty, justice, land, and water.

Aujourd’hui est une journée de reconnaissance et de réflexion. En cette Journée nationale de la vérité et de la réconciliation, le SCFP section locale 4000 rend hommage aux personnes survivantes, se souvient des enfants qui ne sont jamais revenus chez eux et s’unit aux travailleuses et travailleurs autochtones ainsi qu’aux communautés autochtones qui luttent pour la souveraineté, la justice, la terre et l’eau.

Support Services Week September 6th - 12th

To our members who are not employed in Clerical, Nursing RPN, PSW, or EVS Attendant roles:

As we have celebrated Administrative Professionals, RPNs, and PSWs, and will be celebrating EVS Week, CUPE 4000 will also be recognizing our other support services staff. Please know that you have not been forgotten, and that your work is truly valued.

CUPE 4000 representatives will be on site to distribute a small token of appreciation in recognition of your contributions.

The locations are still to be determined. Please keep an eye on your email for further updates.

Semaine des services de soutien, du 6 au 12 septembre

À l’attention de nos membres qui n’occupent pas de poste d’employé de bureau, d’infirmier(ère) auxiliaire autorisé(e) (RPN), d’aide-soignant(e) (PSW) ou d’agent(e) d’entretien (EVS) :

Après avoir rendu hommage aux professionnels de l’administration, aux infirmiers(ères) auxiliaires autorisé(e)s (RPN) et aux aides-soignant(e)s (PSW), et alors que nous nous apprêtons à célébrer la Semaine des les préposés aux services environnementaux, le SCFP section locale 4000 tiendra également à rendre hommage à nos autres membres du personnel des services de soutien. Sachez que nous ne vous avons pas oubliés et que votre travail est véritablement apprécié.

Des représentants du SCFP 4000 seront présents sur place pour vous remettre un petit cadeau en signe de reconnaissance de votre contribution.

Safe staffing saves lives! CUPE Local 4000 stands in solidarity with CUPE 4540 workers at the Sienna-owned long-term care facility, who have been calling on their employer for months to fix the staffing crisis and provide the care residents deserve. On August 28, we stood with them to show our support for their fight for safe staffing, dignity, and quality care.

We also showed our support on August 19 to our health care colleagues at QCH, who are facing devastating job cuts affecting 101 staff, including 80 nurses. These cuts hurt frontline workers and the patients and families who rely on them every day.

Whether in long-term care or hospital care, the message is the same: workers, residents, patients, and families deserve safe staffing, respect, and quality public health care.
