Since the early twentieth century, strong ties have existed between individual citizens of Canada and Finland as a result of immigration, business, educational and cultural exchanges, and tourism. More formal interactions between the two nations occur at the level of diplomatic and other inter-governmental exchanges and in international venues. As its name suggests, the mission of the Canadian Fri

ends of Finland (Ottawa), or CFF, is to help strengthen and enrich the relations between the two nations at the levels of individuals, and of social, cultural and educational groups. Through the various activities it organises for its members, the CFF provides a network of contacts among Canadians interested in Finland. The Canadian Friends of Finland (Ottawa) began in 1988 as a branch of Canadian Friends of Finland based in Toronto. In 1993 Canadian Friends of Finland (Ottawa) incorporated as a non-profit charitable corporation under Part II of the Canada Corporations Act.
