Ottawa Area Reptile Club is dedicated to the education, conservation, study and growth of Herptoculture for professionals and hobbyists, from the novice to experienced in the Ottawa area. Our members are encouraged to share their photos, experiences and knowledge in a respectful manner. We have a wide range of experience levels and reptile counts, but we welcome everyone from the curious to the ex
perienced to join our community. We encourage debate, but we do request that all members be respectful of each other’s opinions during all discussions. Overall we encourage everyone to relax, have fun and just share the hobby that we all love! We allow and encourage local breeders and retailers to speak up and advertise their reptiles/products. We have a list of reptile breeders and suppliers available on both Facebook (Group and Page) to further grow the community as a whole and to ensure that the best care possible is provided for all reptiles and that reptiles quality reptiles are available for the experienced and the beginner. OARC was founded by Jean and Jennifer Dore in January 2013. Originally starting out with just a small group of members, we have continued to grow. With the increased member base further administrators were required to manage the continued influx of new members. In July 2013, Jean and Jennifer decided to move more into the background and appointed Ben and Synthia to head the club. We continue to grow and expand and hope to continue to do so in the years ahead.
