Having attended the launch of Informed Opinions over a decade ago, it was a pleasure to attend the Feb. 17 reception and panel discussion celebrating the organization's achievements since that time. Shari Graydon and her team's advocacy are making an impact, abd I admire their persistence on challenging newsrooms across the country to do better with regard to making space for women's voices.

Music: Limitless by Kairo & Shakira
Poem: Black Hockey Player by Nth Digri.

Did you know about the Coloured Hockey League of the Maritimes (CHLM)?

The league existed between 1895 and 1935. It defied racist myths and helped revolutionize the game of hockey as we know it today.

We're you aware that a number of the CHLM players served overseas during WW1 with the Canadian Army's segregated unit known as the No. 2 Construction Battalion?

Join us on February 20th at 6pm at the Canadian Tire Centre for our annual commemorative hockey game featuring players from all walks of life, various ages and skill levels that will take part in this friendly game of hockey. The Truro Victorias will face off against the New Glascow Speed Boys.

Several members of the 4 Engineering Support Regiment (4 ESR) from Gagetown, NB, which is the designated Battle Honour Group of the No. 2 Construction Battalion will play in the game also.

Admission and parking are free. Parking in Lot #3, entrance is at Gate 3.

We thank the Ottawa Senators and our sponsor Jeff Edwards Flooring.
