September 30 marks Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, established in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Call to Action #94. On this day, CASN honours the Survivors of the residential school system, as well as the children, families, and communities who continue to be affected by this traumatic legacy. On September 30, CASN’s office will be closed to support staff participation in commemorative and educational activities. We encourage everyone to reflect, learn, and honour the resilience of Indigenous Peoples. https://www.casn.ca/events/details/canadas-national-day-for-truth-and-reconciliation-september-30

Le 30 septembre marque la Journée nationale de la vérité et de la réconciliation du Canada, instaurée en réponse à l’appel à l’action no 94 de la Commission de vérité et réconciliation (CVR). En cette journée, l’ACESI rend hommage aux survivant·es du système des pensionnats autochtones, ainsi qu’aux enfants, familles et communautés qui continuent d’être affectés par cet héritage traumatique. Le bureau de l’ACESI sera fermé le 30 septembre afin de permettre au personnel de participer à des activités commémoratives et éducatives. As former Dean of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences and the College of Nursing at the University of Manitoba, her leadership has helped shape the future of the profession. We celebrate this well-deserved recognition and thank Dr. Dyck for her lasting impact on nursing and public service.👏

Have you been wondering how to strengthen your program evaluation processes? Or are you looking for innovative approaches to program evaluation?

CASN is offering a short course on program evaluation over consecutive Tuesdays, starting from October 13, 2026. This course will focus on developing program evaluation plans, conducting an environmental scan, collecting and using data, engaging faculty and students, and monitoring student and graduate outcomes to support evidence-informed program decision-making.

The course will be facilitated by Dr. Shelley Cobbett, RN, BN, GnT, MN, EdD, Dalhousie University.
