Empower'em is a Canadian nonprofit organization providing free mentorship and community for women of colour across Canada. Our flagship program, Our Way Forward (OWF), is a 24-week virtual mentorship program that pairs women of colour with mentors who share their lived experience. Someone who has navigated the same rooms, the same pressures, the same questions about where they belong and what they

are building. Since 2021, OWF has run six cohorts serving 182 mentees and 98 mentors across eight provinces. Every session is free. Every mentor is a woman of colour. The program works across three layers: personal growth, professional development, and collective community because these are not separate things. Empower'em was founded in Ottawa in 2013 and is now federally incorporating as Empower'em Inc. The organization is run by a small, dedicated team of women of colour who have proven they can build and sustain this program independently. We work with funders, partners, and mentors who understand that access to mentorship should not depend on income, location, or connections. If that is you, we want to hear from you.
