Welcome to University of Ottawa Alpha Phi! Alpha Phi is a sisterhood of outstanding women supporting one another in lifelong achievement.

Membership in Alpha Phi not only means a chance to make history at uOttawa, but it also places you in one of the oldest and largest NPC sororities. This summer, our sister Emma upped her business casual game while working full time in the federal government. She works as an executive assistant and is responsible for various administrative tasks. She loves talking about her experience and is always willing to help her fellow sisters.

Cet été, notre sœur Emma a rehaussé son look “business casual” tout en travaillant à temps plein au gouvernement fédéral. Elle travaille comme adjointe exécutive et est responsable de diverses tâches administratives. Elle adore parler de son expérience et est toujours prête à aider ses sœurs.

When I started recruitment for Alpha Phi, my goal was to find girls that I could count on, and make new friends; by joining, I discovered it was so much more than this. Joining Alpha Phi is like joining a big family full of different people with different interests and different backgrounds. I was welcomed with love and open-minds and now I can’t imagine my life without these girls.

Quand j’ai commencé le processus de recrutement pour Alpha Phi, mon objectif était de me faire de nouvelles amies sur qui je pouvais compter. En rejoignant Alpha Phi, j’ai découvert que c’était bien plus que ça. Faire partie d’Alpha Phi, c’est comme rejoindre une grande famille remplie de personnes différentes, avec des intérêts et des parcours variés. J’ai été accueillie avec amour et ouverture d’esprit, et aujourd’hui je ne peux plus imaginer ma vie sans ces filles.

Our next ft. Rafaela - back at it again! 💐
This time, she’s in Sweden just in time to celebrate Midsommar, one of the country’s most important traditions. As the longest day of the year, it’s celebrated with dancing around the midsommarstång, wearing flower crowns (midsommarkrans), and wishing fertility on the summer crops. From sunshine to Swedish tradition, Rafaela is making the most of her time overseas once again!

Cette fois, elle est en Suède pour célébrer Midsommar, l’une des traditions les plus importantes du pays. C’est la journée la plus longue de l’année, marquée par des danses autour du midsommarstång, des couronnes de fleurs (midsommarkrans) et des souhaits de fertilité pour les récoltes d’été. Du soleil aux traditions suédoises, Rafaela profite encore une fois pleinement de son aventure à l’étranger!

Meet Karlynn, an Alpha Phi alumna currently pursuing her law degree at Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland - a member of the prestigious Russell Group of top UK universities. Her goal is to work in corporate law, combining strategic thinking with a strong legal foundation.
Outside of school, she’s involved in her family’s trucking business, helping with day-to-day operations and long-term planning, especially in growth strategy and marketing.
She’s also a content creator on Pinterest, where she curates lifestyle, fashion, and entrepreneurial content for a growing digital audience. Through this, she’s built community, stayed ahead of trends, and explored her passion for branding and business.
We’re so proud of all that you’re accomplishing, Karlynn! 👩‍⚖️🎨📚✨

Voici Karlynn, une ancienne membre d’Alpha Phi qui poursuit actuellement son diplôme en droit à Queen’s University Belfast, en Irlande du Nord - une université membre du prestigieux Russell Group. Son objectif est de travailler en droit des affaires, en alliant pensée stratégique et solide formation juridique.
En dehors des études, elle participe à la gestion de l’entreprise familiale de camionnage, en s’occupant des opérations quotidiennes et de la planification à long terme, notamment en stratégie de croissance et en marketing.
Elle est aussi créatrice de contenu sur Pinterest, où elle partage des publications sur le mode de vie, la mode et l’entrepreneuriat pour inspirer une audience numérique grandissante. Grâce à cette plateforme, elle développe sa créativité, reste à l’affût des tendances, et nourrit sa passion pour l’image de marque et les affaires.

Our sister Madison recently went on the coolest girls trip to Vancouver, BC with her mom and grandma! She spent her time surrounded by nature, walking through Stanley Park and soaking in the beauty of trees taller than she’d ever seen. It was an unforgettable adventure shared with the most important women in her life! 🌲

Notre sœur Madison a récemment fait un voyage de filles incroyable à Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique, avec sa mère et sa grand-mère ! Elle a passé son temps entourée par la nature, se promenant dans le parc Stanley et admirant des arbres plus grands que tout ce qu’elle avait vu auparavant. Une aventure inoubliable partagée avec les femmes les plus importantes de sa vie ! 🌲

🌸 Director Shoutout: Julia - Director of Primary Recruitment and Director of Programming & Events 🌸
Julia has been an incredible director this semester, always showing up with kindness, dedication, and a calm, cheerful presence… even while balancing not just one, but two director roles. She was the driving force behind so many of our favourite moments, from sisterhood retreats and chapters to refereeing and mediating our extremely competitive sisters (no small feet!). Time and time again, she brought our sisters together in meaningful and memorable ways. And none of it went unnoticed. Julia was proudly named “Most Dedicated Director” at our formal this spring; a title that truly reflects the heart, effort, and care she’s poured into our chapter. We’re so grateful for everything she’s done and the love she brings into our sisterhood.

🌸 Shoutout à notre directrice Julia – Directrice du recrutement primaire et directrice de la programmation et des événements 🌸
Julia a été une merveilleuse directrice ce semestre, démontrant toujours de la gentillesse, de la dédicace et une présence calme et encourageante… même en balançant non pas un mais deux rôles. Elle est la force directrice derrière tant de nos moments préférés, des retraites et chapitres entre sœurs aux compétitions parmi nos sœurs si compétitives. Jour après jour, elle a réuni nos sœurs ensemble de façon remarquable et mémorable. Et rien de tout cela ne passe inaperçu. Julia a fièrement été nommé Directrice la plus engagée à notre formal au printemps; un titre qui reflète le cœur, l’effort et l’énergie qu’elle a mis dans notre chapitre. Nous sommes si reconnaissants pour tout ce qu’elle a accompli et nous adorons ce qu’elle apporte à notre fraternité.

Our next ft. Rafaela! 🌿
Our sister Rafaela spent 10 days in French Guiana and Suriname exploring the lush forests of the Guiana Amazon. From spotting sloths and monkeys to learning how local fishing boats are made, every moment was filled with discovery. She was even able to see the European Space Agency station in French Guiana! Such a cool and unforgettable adventure!

Notre prochain avec Rafaela! 🌿
Notre sœur Rafaela a passé 10 jours en Guyane française et au Suriname à explorer les forêts luxuriantes de l’Amazonie guyanaise. Entre l’observation des paresseux et des singes, l’apprentissage de la fabrication des bateaux de pêche locaux et la découverte de la cuisine traditionnelle, chaque moment était une aventure. Elle a même pu apercevoir la station spatiale de l’Agence spatiale européenne en Guyane française! Une expérience inoubliable!
