***Vendor Spotlight***

Joanne Howard of WindWeft started raising Angora goats about 8 years ago and added Shetland sheep shortly after. She loves working with and spending time with her animals. Each one has a name and a unique personality. They produce beautiful mohair and wool, which she loves to share with fibre arts and crafts enthusiasts.

At the WindWeft booth you can find washed and raw fleeces of Shetland wool and mohair, naturally coloured and dyed locks, roving, batts, and yarn. Come check them out at our Annual Sale & Exhibition at the Glebe Community Centre on November 7 & 8.

***Vendor Spotlight***

A few years ago Paula Smith of Strapped for Cash bought herself an inkle loom for Mothers Day. Since then she has been happily weaving bands and straps from 3 mm (¼”) to 50 mm (2”) wide. These narrow goods, some plain, some fancy, have been made into shoelaces, bag straps, key fobs, and guitar straps, among other things. Paula loves upcycling thrifted fabric into tote bags and then weaving handles to match.

Studio Three Fibre Arts is a partnership between Roberta Murrant and Jean Down. They produce unique handwoven and often hand-dyed clothing, textiles, scarves and fibre art. Roberta is a master weaver with over 40 years of experience and Jean has been weaving for over 25 years.

Bring your friends. They do not have to be a guild member to join in this event. Share this information freely with other fibre lovers. It’s a great opportunity to introduce them to this amazing art.

The Ottawa Valley Weavers and Spinners Guild is sponsoring and hosting this event and is very pleased to be offering looms, floor loom accessories, spinning and weaving accessories, a spinning wheel, a drum carder, a free-standing warping mill and lots of books.

Other participating vendors will be bringing a glorious selection of fibre, tools, exotic fabrics from their world travels, books, fleeces, possibly spinning wheels and other goodies.
