In Loving Memory of Kesi Fevrier 🕊️

On behalf of the Saint Lucia Ottawa Association (SLOA), our Executive, members, and the entire Saint Lucian community, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Kesi Fevrier.

This tragedy has left us with profound sadness, disbelief, and grief. Words cannot fully express the pain of losing someone whose life held so much promise and whose journey had so much more to offer.

Kesi was more than a member of our association. She was a valued part of the SLOA Entertainment and Marketing Committee, bringing warmth, positive energy, and a genuine willingness to contribute. Her presence made a meaningful difference, and her absence will be deeply felt.

Kesi, we will miss you. We will miss your energy, your spirit, and the moments we shared. Your contributions to SLOA and to our community will never be forgotten.

During this incredibly difficult time, we pray for strength, comfort, and peace for her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

May her soul rest in eternal peace. 🕊️🇱🇨

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU FROM SLOA 🇱🇨❤️

Reflecting on the Saint Lucia Festival, my heart is full of gratitude.

Huge thanks to our volunteers for the hard work behind the scenes, our vendors for trusting SLOA with your talents, and Ms. Arletta Walcott for your unwavering support. To Miss Flora, the décor was stunning. To Mr. Henry Mangal & the Diplomatic Corps, your presence meant everything.

To everyone who travelled from Toronto, Montreal & NY — and that FULL bus from Toronto 🚌 — thank you for the love! Shoutout to J Hype for coming through 🔥

Big thanks to Hypnotx SoundZ, DJs Sweet Tunes & Up & Gone for the vibes all day, Magee & Modern Trendz for capturing every moment, and our after-party DJs Jekel & Hypnotx for keeping it going all night.

To our Saint Lucian community and all our supporters — thank you for believing in SLOA. This was bigger than any one person. It was about culture, unity, and community.

One People. One Vibe. One Saint Lucia. 🇱🇨❤️

BUILDING BRIDGES ACROSS THE SAINT LUCIAN DIASPORA

On behalf of the Saint Lucia Ottawa Association , I would like to express my sincere appreciation to President Alexandria Actie and the executive team of the Saint Lucia House Foundation for welcoming us to Brooklyn this past weekend.

It was an honour for our delegation to sit with fellow Saint Lucians in New York, formally introduce our association, and have meaningful conversations about how we can work together to strengthen our communities both at home in Saint Lucia and throughout the diaspora.

One of the things I continue to believe strongly in is that we are stronger when we work together. Whether we live in Ottawa, New York, Toronto, London, or Saint Lucia, we remain one people with a shared heritage, culture, and responsibility to the generations coming behind us.

Our conversation was not simply about organizations it was about building relationships, sharing ideas, supporting one another, and creating opportunities for greater collaboration across the diaspora.

I am grateful for the openness, hospitality, and spirit of partnership shown by the Saint Lucia House Foundation. I look forward to continuing this dialogue and turning our conversations into meaningful initiatives that can make a difference.

One People. One Nation. One Diaspora.

On behalf of the Executive and members of the Saint Lucia Ottawa Association, thank you for welcoming us.

🖤💛💙 EMANCIPATION DAY 💙💛🖤

Today, the Saint Lucia Ottawa Association (SLOA) proudly joins Saint Lucians at home and across the diaspora in commemorating Emancipation Day.

This day stands as a powerful reminder of the courage, resilience, and determination of those who fought for freedom and justice. We honour the sacrifices of our ancestors, celebrate their enduring legacy, and reaffirm our commitment to unity, equality, and the continued pursuit of opportunity for future generations.

As we reflect on our history, let us also celebrate the rich culture, traditions, and strength that continue to define our people.

“Remember. Honour. Celebrate Freedom.”

Happy Emancipation Day to all Saint Lucians and the wider Caribbean community.

One People. One Heritage. One Vibe.
