Does Homeownership feel out of reach?
Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa’s Affordable Homeownership Program helps first-time homebuyers move into stable, long-term housing through an affordable, blended-mortgage model with no down payment required. Eligible families must meet income requirements, be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, be current renters living in inadequate housing, have steady full-time employment (with at least one adult working in Canada for two years), have no recent bankruptcies, and be willing to complete required volunteer hours.
Under the program, families purchase their home at fair market value through a combination of an interest-bearing mortgage from a lending partner and an interest-free Habitat mortgage, with monthly payments capped at 30% of household income.
