The 100th Regiment’s Fife and Drum Corps is recruiting — Music and adventure await!

Seeking snare drummers, fifers, and buglers. Both beginners and experienced musicians welcome!

Looking for a new hobby, fun activity, new friends, and be part of a team? Want to be part of the experience rather than a spectator? Then join our ranks – experience history with us.

As a member, you will dress, drill, and play music in a manner to accurately reflect soldiers of the regiment around the year 1813. You will also have the unique opportunity to take part in parades, demonstrations, and reenactments for visitors from all over the world.

2026 - 2027 Events and Locations:

Fort George (Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON), Fort Wellington (Prescott, ON), Goulbourn Museum (Stittsville, ON), Navan Fair Parade (Navan, ON), Old Port Montreal (Montreal, QC), Ottawa Toy Parade (Ottawa, ON), Richmond Fair Parade (Richmond, ON), Stittsville Multicultural Festival (Stittsville, ON), Stittsville Parade of Lights (Stittsville, ON), Upper Canada Village (Morrisburg, ON)

Adults and youth (12+). No experience needed. Open to both men and women.

The regiment's corps of drums plays a variety of tunes besides British and American. Here they are marching along the Promenade du Vieux-Port playing one of their French tunes called "Ça ira".

"Ça ira" French for "It'll be fine" is an emblematic song of the French Revolution, first heard in May 1790.

At the 1793 Battle of Famars, the 14th Regiment of Foot, attacked the French to the music of "Ça ira" (the colonel commenting that he would "beat the French to their own damned tune"). The regiment was later awarded the tune as a battle honour and regimental quick march.

It is also the regimental march of the Royal Montreal Regiment.

On July 25th, 2026, the regiment again returned to Montreal for our annual visit with Les Anciennes troupes militaires de Montréal.

Members of the regiment spent the day with their historical interpretation team and did demonstration with them at the Château Ramezay and the Old Port of Montreal.
