My goodness yesterday was a wonderful day, thanks to all of you who came out to our 2026 Annual Picnic. We had perfect weather and a fantastic group of hounds and humans. I hope you had as much fun as I did. I particularly enjoyed the “hound and human” games we included this year, especially the “Dress your hound” contest. We had an incredible choice of baked goods this year and the barbequed hot dogs were delicious. I tried to chat with as many as you as possible, and I apologize if I missed speaking with you.
The Greyhound Supporters would like to extend a special thank you to the following:
1. Our fantastic volunteers (Michelle, Betsy, Jade, Nathan, Rosanne, Alistair, Claudia, Destinee and Sophie) because we would not have been able to host our picnic without you.
2. Our roving photographer, Christy of znlens.
3. All the bakers who donated their delectable baked goodies.
4. Our vendor Kasco’s Kollars.
5. COBS Bread Kanata South Bakery for donating delicious scones for the bake sale table and delicious hot dog buns for the BBQ.
6. Eric Brazeau, and his wife Michelle, who took some wonderful photos. Photographer Eric Brazeau has partnered with us for a fundraising raffle, and he has generously donated a special photoshoot valued at $630!
7. All the folks who brought in items for the Swap Shop.
8. Everyone who donated items for our raffle table.
9. All of you and your amazing hounds.
The Board and I are so appreciative for the incredible support that you, the greyhound community and our other supporters give us. We simply could not maintain our foster and adoption program, or host events like our annual picnic, without you. Thank you so very much.
I believe that Roberta has already started sharing links with you to the photos taken by Christy, our roving photographer as well as those taken by Eric Brazeau. However, if you have any photos from the picnic, please feel free to share them here.
Thank you again. I look forward to seeing you at next year’s picnic.
