The pain in her voice was unmistakable, but so was her courage.

Yesterday, Madina stood before the press gallery and spoke her truth.

For more than five years, she fought for justice after enduring discrimination while serving at Canada’s mission in Kuwait, silenced, dismissed, and forced to battle a system that failed to protect her.

A federal court later ruled that Global Affairs Canada’s decision to block an investigation into her complaint was unlawful, ordering a new review that ultimately found her ambassador had discriminated against her.

Yesterday, her voice broke through.
