We help young mothers provide a brighter future for themselves and their children.While at our Centre, mothers receive a quality, accredited high school education through the M.F. McHugh Education Centre that features individualized programs, small classes and parenting courses.Youville's dedicated team acts as positive role models for all students. A wide variety of support is provided to encourage young mothers to be independent, contributing members of society.

Preparing for tomorrow: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30). 🧡 As we approach this important day, our Youville team has been committed to a continuing journey of listening, learning, and reflection.

Through community walks, discussions, readings, and shared artwork, we have been building our understanding. We’ve been immersed in the stories and history presented in the learning materials and displays throughout the Centre, including the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action.

Let's all commit to continued action, dialogue, and space for reflection tomorrow. Every Child Matters.

We were excited to welcome back Kim from Ottawa Public Health (OPH) today! She was on-site answering dental health questions for our students and their children, conducting screenings, sharing resources, follow-up, and—of course—handing out toothbrushes.

OPH will be back this spring to host a dedicated children's screening session. Thank you for the wonderful partnership, !

Program Manager Bethany represented Youville Centre at Carleton University's School of Social Work 2026 Agency Fair today. The Agency Fair provides an opportunity for organizations to showcase their work, educate social work students on local community services, and connect with prospective practicum students for winter, summer, and fall 2027. Youville Centre takes pride in supporting the next generation of social workers by offering practicum placements for BSW candidates.

Executive Director Natasha McBrearty represented Youville Centre today at the 2026 Working on Wellness (WOW) Festival Community Partner Expo, organized by CAPSA.

"The WOW Festival is a high-energy day of action that brings to life what a fully integrated healthcare system can look like—one that gives equal priority to Mental, Physical, and Substance Use Health. Each September, 150+ organizations and more than 2,000 attendees come together to connect with services that support every pathway to wellness.

Youville has been selected as one of the recipient charities for the 2026 Race to End Homelessness, taking place on Sunday, September 27 at Pine View Golf Course (1471 Blair Road)

Youville Centre was happy to welcome students back to classes today! Staff have been planning & preparing for the new school year, welcoming new children into the Child Development Program and participating in multiple days of Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) training (pictured). We are looking forward to the 2026-2027 school year, offering our programs and services to young families in the Ottawa community.

Happy Canada Day!

Please note that Youville Centre will be closed on Wednesday, July 1st as our staff, students, and little ones celebrate the holiday. We will reopen for our regular hours and summer school programming on Thursday, July 2nd.
