This spring, through your donations, we were happy to be able to support Lester B. Pearson High School, Notre Dame High School, and the Boys and Girls Club (Taggart Parkes Family Clubhouse and the Tomlinson Family Foundation Clubhouse) with new equipment for their volleyball programs! 🏐

We provided 48 kneepads, 36 volleyballs, 12 antennas and 10 pieces for net repairs (posts, etc.) to these recipients, totalling $6,000. Thank you to Duguay Sports for your support in providing your charitable discount on this equipment, helping spread the funds even further.

We estimate 1,725 will use this equipment year over year - that's a big impact!

"These contributions may seem like equipment [...] on paper, but in reality they represent belonging, confidence, dignity, opportunity, and access for students who might otherwise go without" - Sarah McCafferty, Lester B. Pearson High School

MYOF has been hard at work on our Rise & Rally partnership with Volleyball Canada, funded by the Government of Canada's Community Sport for All Initiative.

Over the last few months, MYOF partnered with the following five organizations that work with youth in marginalized communities in Ottawa:

- Boys & Girls Club Ottawa - Don McGahan Clubhouse
- Boys & Girls Club Ottawa - Ron Kolbus Clubhouse
- Inuuqatigiit Centre
- Hunt Club - Riverside Park Community Centre
- St. Patrick's High School

We are very proud to share the impact of our initiative on the community. Swipe to see a few pictures of the sessions!

A big thank you to all the coaches who provided on court sessions, as well as our volunteers, community coaches and partners for their participation!

🎓🏐 Congratulations to the recipients of the 2026 MYOF Scholarships!

In front of the Maverick Volleyball community, MYOF was proud to recognize four outstanding graduating athletes whose achievements, leadership, character, and commitment to giving back truly embody the Maverick spirit.

🎓🏐

As their Maverick journey comes to an end, our graduating 18U team are leaving behind more than memories—they are leaving a legacy.

Through the 18U Legacy Fund, the 18U Colts, Palominos, Broncos, and Mustangs came together to donate $1,740 to the Maverick Youth Opportunities Fund (MYOF), helping ensure that future athletes facing financial barriers have the opportunity to experience the many benefits of sport.

This proud Maverick tradition reflects the generosity, leadership, and community spirit of our athletes, coaches, and families. By giving back to the next generation, these teams are helping create opportunities for young athletes to learn, grow, compete, and belong.

Thank you to the athletes, families, and coaching staffs of:
🏐 18U Colts – led by Coach Sybil Johnson-Abbott
🏐 18U Palominos – led by Coach David Madden
🏐 18U Broncos – led by Coach John Nguyen
🏐 18U Mustangs – led by Coach Bruce Dunning

Your impact will be felt for years to come. Thank you for leaving a legacy that extends far beyond the volleyball court. 💫
