Camp is where a kid finds a group of friends, a week that feels made for them, and a place where they are known and included. Every kid deserves that.

Summer is half over. We do not want a single one of them to run out of time.

This summer, we're asking our community for something we've never asked before.

Consider Mathis…6 years old when his family arrived in Canada. No friends, no language yet.

Then he came to Dovercourt camp. "The summer camp was a gateway for Mathis," his mom told us.

We're raising $25,000 to send 64 kids to camp.
$400 = one week, one child, one summer they'll remember.

As part of National Drowning Prevention Week, July 19-25, we're sharing safety messages from the Lifesaving Society. This year’s National Drowning Prevention Week theme, “Prepare to be Water Smart” aims to teach Ontarians the simple steps they can take to prevent drowning and water-related injury by preparing themselves to be in, on and around water.

Drowning is preventable. Preparation saves lives, and small steps can make a big difference, including:
o stay within arms’ reach
o wear a lifejacket
o learn to swim
o swim where the lifeguards are
o actively supervise children at all times

Plan for a safe summer, whether at a sunny beach, a cozy cottage, and at pools, wading pools, and waterparks.

Summer is a great time to continue swim lessons. There are still spaces in Dovercourt's summer swim lessons offered Monday - Friday every week of the summer. Fall registration is also open.
