What does it mean to put “Home is Here” into practice?

While residents at CCI’s transitional homes may stay for only a few months as they work toward securing employment, education, and long-term housing, we know how important it is for that time to feel welcoming and supportive.

At St. Joseph’s, a simple offer to donate seeds became the beginning of a resident-led vegetable garden; a shared project that gives residents the opportunity to contribute, spend time outdoors, and create a space they can enjoy together.

Because building a sense of home is about more than providing a place to stay. It’s about creating environments where people can participate, connect, and begin building their lives in Canada.

Thank you to Gabriel, and the residents and staff who helped bring this garden to life.

Happy Canada Day from the CCI team!

We asked our staff a simple question: How many Canada Days have you celebrated?

The answers were as diverse as our team itself.

Some of us grew up celebrating July 1 with fireworks and BBQs, and some of us only discovered Canada Day after arriving here and experiencing it for the very first time.

That’s what makes this city, and country, stronger: the mix of experiences, cultures, and perspectives that shape how we live, work, and grow together. At CCI, we're proud to be a part of that journey.
