Congratulations to Alison Levine and Iulian Ciobanu on a hard-fought tournament in Kazakhstan. Despite missing out on the semi-finals, the team leaves Astana encouraged by the progress shown and the performances delivered throughout the week. Attention now turns to the remainder of the season. 👏🇨🇦

🇨🇦 Team Canada is quarterfinals bound at the Astana 2026 World Boccia Cup!

Alison Levine is first in her group after a 10–5 victory over Egypt’s Hanaa Elfar and a 4–2 win this morning.

Iulian Ciobanu also advances to the quarterfinals following a dominant 11–0 win over Kazakhstan’s Azamat Ayazbayev and a 0–6 result in his second match. He now turns his focus to the quarterfinals.

Congratulations to both athletes and good luck in the quarterfinals! 💪

🇨🇦 Équipe Canada se qualifie pour les quarts de finale à la Coupe du monde de boccia Astana 2026!

Alison Levine a terminé première de son groupe grâce à une victoire de 10 à 5 contre l’Égyptienne Hanaa Elfar et un gain de 4 à 2 ce matin.

Iulian Ciobanu accède lui aussi aux quarts de finale après une impressionnante victoire de 11 à 0 contre le Kazakh Azamat Ayazbayev et un résultat de 0 à 6 lors de son deuxième match. Il se prépare maintenant pour les quarts de finale.

🇨🇦 Team Canada has arrived in Astana!

Our national team is set to compete at the Astana 2026 World Boccia Cup, taking place June 1–8 in Kazakhstan.

Alison Levine and Iulian Ciobanu will represent Canada in the BC4 individual events before teaming up in the BC4 pairs competition.

Good luck to Alison, Iulian, Head Coach César Nicolaï, and Performance Partners Emilian-Sorin Susan and Shannon McGarr as they begin Canada’s first international boccia event of 2026!

Notre équipe nationale est prête à participer à la Coupe du monde de boccia Astana 2026, qui se déroule du 1er au 8 juin au Kazakhstan.
