e National Capital Region, as an original and central trading place for numerous Indigenous people over the centuries. The Ottawa area with its meeting point of three major rivers, the Ottawa, the Gatineau, and the Rideau, which in earlier times were the Algonquin Highways, made the area an important gathering and trading centre. The Kabeshinàn Minitig Pavilion will host many of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation artists/crafts people along with invited Indigenous Artists in both visual arts and fine crafts from across turtle island throughout the summer months. The Pavilion is located behind 150 Middle Street in the Stone Annex at 2 Timberslide Street on Victoria Island off Booth Street, Ottawa Ontario. In the National Capital Commission’s Passport Publication it is listed as the Kabeshinàn Minitig (Victoria Island) Pavilion
The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation welcome this opportunity to revive this history of trade for the many visitors both domestic and international that will attend the Canada 150 events throughout the summer. We are very pleased to co-host Kabeshinàn Minitig Pavilion with the National Capital Commission.
