With every season, the company engages in various creation and production projects, as well as initiating participatory projects in local schools and in the community. Reaching an ever-increasing and diverse audience, Tara Luz Danse is recognized as one of the leaders in Ottawa’s dance scene.

Les artistes de Tara Luz Danse ont eu le plaisir de se rendre à l’école élémentaire St. John the Apostle, dans le secteur de Nepean à Ottawa, pour offrir des ateliers en français aux élèves de 6e année inscrits au programme d’immersion. C’était une toute première visite pour la compagnie, et une occasion de découvrir une communauté scolaire accueillante et dynamique. Aux côtés des artistes, les participants ont exploré le mouvement avec enthousiasme et énergie, inspirés par la force des phénomènes naturels. Un grand merci au programme Immersart et à la Fédération culturelle canadienne-francaise pour leur soutien, qui a permis cette rencontre inspirante avec un nouveau groupe de jeunes dans notre communauté!

The artists of Tara Luz Danse had the pleasure of visiting St. John the Apostle Elementary School in the Nepean area of Ottawa to offer workshops in French to Grade 6 students enrolled in the French immersion program. It was the company’s first visit and a wonderful opportunity to discover a welcoming and dynamic school community. Alongside the artists, participants explored movement with enthusiasm and energy, inspired by the strength of natural phenomena. Thank you to the Immersart program and the Fédération culturelle canadienne-francaise for their support, which permitted the company to engage with a new group of young people in our community!

En 2024, lors de la tournée de Tara Luz Danse dans le nord-ouest de l’Ontario, les artistes ont eu l’occasion de découvrir et d’animer des ateliers à l’École élémentaire Val-des-Bois à Marathon. Grâce à la technologie, les artistes ont récemment pu renouer avec les jeunes et les enseignants de cette école en offrant une deuxième série d’ateliers en mouvement, cette fois, virtuellement. La formule hybride, adoptée par la compagnie depuis quelques années, offre un tremplin pour favoriser l’accès, faire perdurer ces moments créatifs, et solidifier les liens avec les jeunes et les communautés francophones en régions éloignées. Un merci chaleureux au programme Passepart et à la Fédération culturelle canadienne-francaise, qui ont rendu ces ateliers et retrouvailles artistiques possibles!

In 2024, during the company’s tour in Northwestern Ontario, the artists had the opportunity to discover and lead workshops at Val-des-Bois elementary school in Marathon. With the use of technology, the artists recently reconnected with this school’s students and teachers by offering a second series of movement workshops, this time virtually. The hybrid model, adopted by the company in recent years, provides a valuable springboard to increase access, extend these creative experiences, and strengthen connections with children, youth and Francophone communities in remote regions. Many thanks to the Passepart program and the Fédération culturelle canadienne-francaise, whose support made these workshops and renewed artistic connections possible!

Pour une troisième année consécutive, les artistes de Tara Luz Danse se sont rendus à l’école élémentaire Divine Infant à Orléans pour offrir des ateliers en mouvement en français. Cette fois, les artistes et les élèves de 6e année du programme d’immersion se sont inspirés des profondeurs de la caverne pour bouger ensemble et explorer leur imaginaire. Un grand merci au programme Immersart et à la Fédération culturelle canadienne-francaise (FCCF) pour leur précieux appui, qui nous permet de poursuivre, année après année, ces moments créatifs en français auprès des jeunes de notre communauté!

For a third consecutive year, the artists of Tara Luz Danse visited Divine Infant Elementary School in Orléans to offer movement workshops in French. This time, the artists and Grade 6 students from the French immersion program drew inspiration from the depths of the cave to move together and explore their imagination. A heartfelt thank you to the Immersart program and the Fédération culturelle canadienne-francaise (FCCF) for their valuable support, which allows us to continue sharing, year after year, these creative moments in French with children and youth in our community.

La danse et le jaune à l’honneur au Centre des arts Shenkman!

Du 10 au 18 avril 2026, les artistes de Tara Luz Danse ont eu le plaisir de monter sur la scène du Théâtre Richcraft pour offrir sept représentations du spectacle "Les souliers d’Angélie". Quel privilège de partager l’univers chorégraphique d’Anik Bouvrette avec plus de 700 spectateurs de tous âges, à l’occasion d’une représentation grand public, de cinq représentations pour le jeune public scolaire et d’une représentation en format "relaxed performance", réalisée en collaboration avec Autisme Ontario. L’équipe est profondément reconnaissante de cette précieuse opportunité de développement artistique. Merci à toutes celles et ceux qui étaient parmi nous — votre curiosité et votre enthousiasme étaient palpables!

The company’s artists had the pleasure of taking the stage at the Richcraft Theatre of the Shenkman Arts Centre from April 10 to 18, 2026 to present seven performances of "Les souliers d’Angélie". What a privilege to share Anik Bouvrette’s choreographic world with more than 700 audience members of all ages, through one general public performance, five performances for school audiences, and one "relaxed performance" presented in collaboration with Autism Ontario. The company is deeply grateful for this invaluable opportunity for artistic development. Thank you to everyone who joined us — your curiosity and enthusiasm were palpable!

En collaboration avec Autisme Ontario, Tara Luz Danse vous invite à une présentation spéciale en format “relaxed performance” de “Les souliers d’Angélie” le samedi 11 avril à 14 h, au Théâtre Richcraft du Centre des arts Shenkman à Orléans. Pendant la représentation, certaines lumières resteront allumées et les portes de la salle demeureront ouvertes afin de permettre aux spectateurs d’entrer et de sortir au besoin. La musique sera jouée à un volume plus doux et les places seront non assignées, permettant à chacun de choisir l’endroit où il se sent le plus à l’aise. Après la représentation, prolongez la magie en rencontrant les artistes lors d’un moment convivial et informel. Une expérience chaleureuse, accessible et adaptée aux spectateurs de tous âges. In collaboration with Autism Ontario, Tara Luz Danse invites you to a special relaxed performance of “Les souliers d’Angélie” on Saturday, April 11 at 2 p.m. in the Richcraft Theatre at the Shenkman Arts Centre in Orléans. During the performance, some lights will remain on and theatre doors will stay open to allow audience members to exit and re-enter the space as needed. The music will be played at a lower volume, and seating will be unassigned so everyone can choose the seat where they will feel most at ease. A casual meet and greet with the artists will follow the performance. A warm and audience-friendly experience suitable for all ages. Réservez la date! Le samedi 18 avril 2026 à 18h30, le spectacle “Les souliers d’Angélie” sera de retour sur la scène du Théâtre Richcraft au Centre des arts Shenkman à Ottawa! Venez découvrir Angélie, un personnage à la fois coloré, ludique, sensible et poétique. Dans cette œuvre-phare de la compagnie, Angélie s'entoure de souliers et d'une panoplie d'objets inspirés par sa couleur préférée, le jaune, qui de fil en aiguille la mène dans un univers de mouvement et d’imagination. Et avec plus d’une femme sur scène, le public est invité à réfléchir : laquelle est Angélie?

Save the date! On Saturday April 18th 2026 at 6:30 pm, one of the company’s signature works, “Les souliers d’Angélie”, returns to the Richcraft Theatre stage at the Shenkman Arts Centre in Ottawa! Come and discover Angélie, a playful, vibrant, sensitive and poetic character. In this work, Angélie surrounds herself with shoes and a collection of objects inspired by her favorite color, yellow, which lead her into a world filled with movement and imagination. And with more than one woman on stage, the audience is invited to consider: which one is Angélie?

Tickets will go on sale in 2026. Stay tuned!
