The Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health

The Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health Wabano is a wholistic health and cultural centre supporting Ottawa's Indigenous community.

The Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health is an award-winning organization that serves over 18,000 Indigenous people annually. In addition to the medical services offered through our clinic, we offer countless culturally-based social programs designed to help Indigenous individuals and families lead healthy lives, including:

- Mental health services
- After-school programs
- Cultural programming
-

Seniors' circles
- Parenting groups
- Nutrition & fitness activities
- Diabetes care

More than a health centre, Wabano is a proud Indigenous organization dedicated to helping Indigenous people live the good life. We envision a world in which all First Nations, Inuit and Métis people have achieved full and equitable access to the conditions of health including: pride in ancestry, cultural reclamation, peace, shelter, education, food, income, a stable environment, resources, and social justice. We envision a world where the gifts and wisdom of First Nations, Inuit and Métis cultures are recognized as valuable, distinctive and beautiful.

For National Wellness Month we are sharing activities that will help you heal and maintain the four quadrants of wellness, stay tuned for more teachings!

Represented by the colour black, the ❤️ Emotional ❤️ quadrant of the Medicine Wheel reminds us that living a balanced life means tapping into our feelings, sharing them with others and supporting those around us.

This week, try naming one emotion you're feeling and sharing it with someone you trust — it's a small step that strengthens both your mental wellbeing and your connection to the world around you.
