THE Rendez-vous de la Francophonie

THE Rendez-vous de la Francophonie Join our FB page in French at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rendez-vous-de-la-Francophonie/2642802849 Sometimes though, one day is simply not enough!

Every year, French-speaking communities and people around the world celebrate the Journée Internationale de la Francophonie on March 20 as a way to promote the French language, with all of its diversity and richness. Les Rendez-vous de la Francophonie (RVF) is our way of making the most of this important celebration. After all, when every province in Canada has some French heritage woven into its

fabric, you need more than one day to celebrate it right! More than 9.5 million people in Canada currently have a personal connection to the French language and consider it part of their community. Wherever you look—from Acadian communities in the east, to the heart of the Francophone culture in Quebec, or even the Pacific Ocean out west—it’s clear that French remains a relevant and vibrant cornerstone of Canadian culture. RVF is the proud initiative of the “Canadian Foundation for Cross-Cultural Dialogue”, whose mission is to promote cultural exchange and ongoing relationships between Francophone and Acadian communities and all other segments of Canadian society. During RVF, you’ll find everything from community gatherings to classroom activities, performing arts through multicultural celebrations and almost everything in between – all beautiful and imaginative ways to express the French language. Come celebrate with us – it’s our time to come together!
