Our Story

This is the official page of MealCare’s Ottawa Chapter.

MealCare was founded in McGill by Milton Calderon and Sanchit Gupta. Now present in McGill, Guelph and Ottawa, we are a large group of volunteers that aim to tackle two pressing issues: food waste and food insecurity.

Our process: We collect and redistribute surplus edible food from our donors to homeless shelters and food cupboards in our communities. Through our partnerships, we are able to divert food away from the landfill and work towards a more sustainable food system.

Together, we can create a network of people dedicated to improving our environment while helping food insecure community members!
