Today marks the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, an event - led by trans people of colour - that catalyzed the q***r rights movement not only in the United States but in Canada and around the world.

Since the Stonewall Riots, Canada's 2SLGBTQI community has achieved significant progress towards gaining mainstream acceptance. However, there is still much more work to do, especially in light of the increasing anti-2SLGBTQI hate seen across Canada.

We must continue to learn from history and carve out safer, more accepting, and inclusive spaces for everyone. Use Egale's resources to help support that work at egale.ca/resources

2SLGBTQIA+ communities are increasingly under attack in Canada and around the world. Initiatives promoting diversity, equity and inclusion are being dismantled, putting hard-won rights at risk, and leading to a rise in hateful rhetoric.

This year’s theme, , reminds us that solidarity is our greatest strength. When we share knowledge, support each other, and raise our voices together, we push back against hate and create safe workplaces where everyone can thrive without fear.
