INTERNATIONAL RELIEF ASSISTANCE PROGRAM/ AGENCY (NIRA)
2.0 PART II: OBJECTIVES
2.1 Article II - MAIN OBJECTIVE
The main objective of the organization is to provide relief and humanitarian assistance to persons affected by war and to carry out peace building, trauma healing among the affected communities.
2.2 Article III - SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
The organization shall have the following speci
fic objects:
a) To support primary, secondary and tertiary educational institutions providing scholarships to outstanding students and orphans including girls. b) To support income generating activities for women, youth groups and individuals who have business interests to build their capacities in business and entrepreneurial skills development so that they develop their business to provide humanitarian relief food and non- food items to persons affected by war. c) To advocate for the rights of the victims of the conflict to seek justice, compensation and reparation. d) To provide psycho-social support to the war victims who have been traumatized by the conflict for whatever abuses inflicted on them by the perpetrators. e) To work in cooperation with health institutions to promote maternal/child health care and to help provide vaccinations, HIV/AIDs and VCT services. f) To promote sports and other social activities for the youth groups through competitions . g) To mobilize and coordinate resource mobilization efforts for relief and humanitarian assistance. h) To establish the development of peace building efforts for sustainable peace. i) To organize annual peace conferences internationally and nationally to seek international and local peace solutions to conflict. j) To establish a trust fund to assist orphans, people with disabilities and widows affected by the conflict. k) To provide health services by supplying medical supplies and Doctors to assist in emergency services to those injured and affected by war. l) To provide water and sanitation services in internally displaced camps across the country. m) To create a new cadre of professionally trained peace ambassadors and mentors for peace building and reconstruction in the country. n) To establish partnership with key stakeholders in peace building and humanitarian assistance to offer support to suffering populations from war effects. o) To enter into any arrangement with the government or authorities that may seem conducive to the Organization's objects or any of them, and to obtain the government or authority any rights, privileges and concessions which the organization may think desirable to obtain. p) To take such steps by personal or written appeals, public meetings or otherwise as may from time to time be deemed expedient for the purpose of procuring contributions to the funds of the organization in the form of donations, annual subscription or otherwise;
q) To apply to the government or authority, public bodies, corporations, companies or persons for and to accept grants or gifts of money and of any moveable or immovable property, donations, gifts, subscriptions and other assistance with a view to promoting the objects for the organization and in taking any gifts or property to take the same subject to any special trust which may be prescribed by the donor thereof;
r) To establish an endowment fund to receive grants, donations gifts and other assistance in any form whatsoever from Kenya or from any other source for anyone or more of the objects of the Organization and to establish non-profit making foundations in any country or countries for the purpose of receiving donations from private and corporate persons and for channeling the same to the organization's development operations. s) To promote or assist the promotion of any organization or company or other body having objects similar to those of the organization. t) To draw, execute or otherwise deal with negotiable or transferable instructions. u) To do all such other things as are incidental or conductive to the attainment of any of the above objects;
