This system has developed from just simple kitchen exhaust system cleaning to an overall preventive maintenance program. We have created a course to teach the industry professionals and inspectors how to properly inspect and clean kitchen exhaust systems. The course was created to prevent the lost of life and damage to property. Restaurants which are cleaned using KESCA standards are able to displ
ay the KESCA logo, to show they care about preventing fires, and the health of their staff and customers. The course focuses on regular inspections and preventative maintenance. Preventative maintenance:
• prevents the risk of fire hazard (fire from overheating of kitchen equipment)
• reduces the occurrence of health problems (food poisoning, lung problems)
• saves money (buildings operate more efficiently after they have been cleaned)
• saves lives
