Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Pride is a time to celebrate. To recognize the progress our communities have fought for, find connection, and express ourselves freely and unapologetically.

It’s also a chance to check in with ourselves and ask: what do I need to have a safe, fulfilling experience?

As you head into a month full of festivals, parties, community events, and chosen family, make space to prioritize your physical and mental wellbeing:

✨ Stock up on free sexual health supplies through Tea2Go
✨ Stay on top of your testing with our simple, discreet services
✨ Join a community program and make new connections
✨ Access mental health resources and support when you need it

All this + more in the link in bio 🔗

However you’re celebrating this month, we hope it’s filled with joy, connection, and care.

Happy Pride from all of us at MAX 🤍

THANK YOU so much to all our volunteers 🙏

For volunteer appreciation week, we want to highlight some of the amazing contributions our volunteers have made this year.

🌈 30+ volunteers supported our outreach, co-pilots initiatives, street festival booth, and vaccine clinic during pride, meaning we were able to attend 15+ events
🎃 15+ volunteers helped us pack 300+ safer s3x and substance use kits at our Kit-Packing Crafternoon
🎬 43 volunteers helped our at the inaugural ***r festival by working our outreach table, being wayfinders, running registration systems, and promoting the event
🪩 Co-organized by volunteers and MAX staff, Gay Bar 1985 brought in $3,000+ which directly supported MAX’s mission
✨ Our volunteers collectively contributed 20 hours to organize a MAX volunteer social
🤝 Our outreach team attended 50+ events, bringing free safer seggs, substance use, and HRT supplies and educational resources to the community
💜 For Hole-istic Health 3, our 12 volunteers helped prep the event, create and lead games, and supported our outreach and .ca tables

Our work would not be possible without such a fabulous volunteer team, so THANK YOU to all who have lent a helping hand.

PRs are hot. Supporting your community is hotter 🏃

We’ve joined the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend as an official fundraiser 🏁

Already registered? You can still run with MAX:

👉 Add us as your charity
👉 Or add us as a second fundraising option (yes, you can do that 👀)

Plus, get race-ready by lacing up with one of Ottawa’s q***r running groups! Swipe left for more details on , and ***rrunclub’s weekly meetups.

Not registered? There’s still time to run, walk, or support from the sidelines. Sign-up for a race, share this post, or donate directly through our fundraising page to help us hit our goal of $5000.

Every dollar you raise supports MAX’s q***r health programs—funding free testing, mental and sexual health education, and community support across Ottawa. Let’s make every step count 🖤

How are you feeling? Tea2go is taking some time to check in with our community, and see how you’re doing.

Mental health is just as important as our physical health, but oftentimes mental health support can be hard to find. So we want to check in, and see what people want, what people need, and how we can help them get it.

Please take a few minutes to fill out our needs assessment survey, and let us know how you’re doing and what services you think would benefit our community.

The survey is 100% anonymous, and will only be used by us to help develop future programming.
