REFUGEE NIGHT 2026 MEET THE PANELISTS / NUIT DES RÉFUGIÉS 2026 RENCONTREZ LES PANÉLISTES

Refugee Night is an event dedicated to celebrating and uplifting refugee voices, discussing refugee issues, and learning more about what the world of refugee law has to offer.

Refugee Night will take place on Tuesday, March 12th, 2026 from 5:15-7 PM in room 416 in Fauteux Hall on the University of Ottawa Campus (57 Louis-Pasteur Private). We will be hosting 3 devoted panelists involved in the field of refugee law.

Our theme this year is “Between Borders and Belonging: The Impact of Bill C-2/C-12 on Refugee & Immigrant Rights.”

La Soirée des réfugiés est un événement consacré à la célébration et à l’encouragement des voix des réfugiés, en discutant des questions relatives aux réfugiés et à l’apprentissage des possibilités qu’offre le monde du droit des réfugiés.

La Soirée des réfugiés aura lieu le mardi 12 mars 2026 de 17h15 à 19h dans la salle 416 du pavillon Fauteux sur le campus de l’Université d’Ottawa (57, rue Louis-Pasteur). Nous accueillerons 3 panélistes dévoués impliqués dans le domaine du droit des réfugiés.

Notre thème cette année est « Entre frontières et appartenance : L’impact des projets de loi C-2/C-12 sur les droit des réfugiés et des immigrants » .

CARL Refugee Night 2026 is coming. Join us as we explore “Between Borders and Belonging: The Impact of Bill C-2/C-12 on Refugee & Immigrant Rights.” This year’s panel will bring together immigration lawyers, advocates, and lived voices to unpack how recent legislative changes are reshaping refugee protection in Canada and what that means for our communities.

Roberto Miranda Award celebrates refugee individuals who have shown dedication, courage, and their advocacy has made a meaningful difference in social justice and advocacy in the Ottawa community.

This $500 award is looking to recognize a refugee who has made a significant contribution to social justice or refugee support in Canada.

Le prix Roberto Miranda rend hommage aux réfugiés qui ont fait preuve de dévouement et de courage et dont le militantisme a eu un impact significatif sur la justice sociale et la défense des droits dans la communauté d’Ottawa.

Ce prix d’une valeur de 500 $ vise à récompenser un réfugié qui a apporté une contribution significative à la justice sociale ou au soutien aux réfugiés au Canada.

Eligibility/Admissibilité

The award is open to refugees, and those who have experienced displacement similar to refugees, currently living in the Ottawa area.

The recipient of the award must be able to attend the CARL uOttawa Refugee Night.

Le prix est ouvert aux réfugiés et à ceux qui ont connu un déplacement similaire à celui des réfugiés et qui vivent actuellement dans la région d’Ottawa.

Le lauréat du prix doit être en mesure d’assister à la soirée des réfugiés de l’ACAADR dans la région de la capitale nationale.
