Canada for Africa Group proudly celebrates the 62nd anniversary of Africa Day, this May 25, 2025.

This year’s theme — “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations” — is a powerful call to honour the memory of those who endured the horrors of slavery and colonialism. 🕊️✊🏿 It is also a resolute affirmation of the right to truth, justice, and restoration for Africa and its global diaspora. ⚖️

Today, more than ever, we are reminded that unity is our strength. 🤝 Across continents and generations, Africans and people of African descent must stand together — to demand justice, to reclaim our histories, and to shape our rightful place in global affairs. 🌐

Let us rise with pride, speak with courage, and move forward with purpose.

The UN Security Council Resolution 2250, which recognizes the critical role of youth in peace and security efforts worldwide! Together with our co-hosts—the DRC Coalition for YPS, the African Union Youth Ambassadors for Peace (AU YAPS), the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), UN International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), and the United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY) Americas Youth Advocacy Team (Am-YAT).
