Today, on International Youth Day, we recognize this year's theme, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations." While young people experience different realities, they share common hopes for opportunity, meaningful participation, quality education, decent work, and a sustainable future.

At Pauktuutit, we remain committed to working alongside Inuit youth and ensuring their voices help shape our work. By listening, learning, and creating opportunities together, we can help build a stronger future for tomorrow's Inuit youth.

📣 Pauktuutit is in Inuvik!

We started Piliriqatigiinniq Inuit Iqqaqtuqtauninginnut — Working Together for Inuit Justice, a multi-day gathering at the MacKenzie Hotel focused on advancing Inuit perspectives in justice.

This week’s sessions bring community members together to engage in meaningful discussions on UNDRIP and Call to Action 50, with opportunities to learn, share, and explore Inuit rights under UNDRIP.

We invite Inuit in Inuvik to join us today, Wednesday July 29 and tomorrow Thursday, July 30 —come take part in the discussions, learn more, and help move this important work forward. Food included.

The future of Inuit food security is in the hands of today's youth, and they're rising to the challenge.

In Episode 6, The Role of Youth in Inuit Food Security, Inuit voices share a clear message: youth are ready to learn; they just need the opportunity.

From learning on the land with Elders to community-led hunting programs and reconnecting with culture and language, this episode highlights how knowledge is passed on and why it matters now more than ever.
