HOLAS - Humanitarian Organization of Latin American Students

is a non-profit student-run organization based in Ottawa under Carleton University Students Association (CUSA). H.O.L.A.S welcomes all who are interested in enjoying and learning about the Latin American Culture throughout Carleton University, Ottawa and the surrounding community, as well as national and international partners. The primary focus of the organization is to bring together a community

of students interested in Latin America and conscientious of the current issues that are present throughout the continent. initiates various social projects through celebrations and events showcasing Latin American culture. These events are intended for its national and international partners throughout Latin America to support causes such as children that were once involved in armed groups in Colombia, helping build a kitchen for a remote village’s only school in El Salvador, raising $15,000 to build a home for 15 orphans in Honduras, the indigenous children throughout the Andes in Peru, and relief efforts for the recent earthquake in Mexico.
