Great news! Thanks so much for your patience! We are over joyed by the interest in our programs and can’t wait to have you back on the courts! We have added more classes for the women’s beginner (Saturday) and beginner/intermediate (Sunday). Head to our website, ( link in our bio, programs, registration to sign up). If you know someone who wants to sign up spread the word❤️

Missed out on another program? Be sure to add yourself ( or your child) to the waitlist -we do whatever we can to get everyone on the courts.

If you are on a waitlist for the women’s intermediate you may want to give the team tennis program on Saturday mornings a try. This is a new and exciting program which is a lot of fun and a great way to start your week-end.

We are excited to continue to build healthier communities through tennis and can’t wait to see all of you in the spring.

What is Team Tennis?

We are bringing back TEAM TENNIS for JUNIORS AND WOMEN. If you are thinking about signing up, here is more information:

Team Tennis is designed for level 2 or intermediate players who are ready to put their skills into action through match play. Players must be able to rally and will enjoy fun, supportive, team-based competition. Participants can join individually and will be matched to a team, making it a great way to build confidence, teamwork, and match play experience.

There are team tennis options for various groups starting in May:
- Intermediate Women: Sat 8am
- Love Team Tennis (7-8 yrs) - Sat 9:30
-Topspin Team Tennis (9-11 yrs) - Sat 10:30
- Slice (12-17 yrs) - Sunday 5pm

Players should be registered in a level 2 or intermediate program, or have completed one in the past. These programs have been so fun in the past and we are very excited to bring them back.

BIG NEWS. Our number 1 highlight of 2025: We are so excited to share that we have secured funding to revitalize our 6 tennis courts (4 at Hillcrest and 2 at Ridgemont). Construction will start after our spring programs (which will launch soon). This upgrade will bring the courts back into excellent condition which will benefit our programs and the tennis community for many years to come. A few pictures of the current condition. We can’t wait to see the courts post revitalization later this year.

Our revitalization project also includes getting electricity and having the lights functioning by the fall. Part of the secured funding will cover this, but we hope to raise the rest of the funds this year. Most donations from our future programs and events will be allocated towards this so we can turn on the lights and play tennis into the evenings on the revitalized courts!

We can’t wait for what’s to come in 2026 and will share more as we finalize the details!

Top 5 of 2025.

5. Going to the family day of the National Bank Open with my family to see (and the kids got to meet) Genie Bouchard in her last tournament before her retirement, and watching Iga Swiatek hit the ball so hard on the practice courts.

4. Playing doubles with Ash in the newly launched flex league ladder. We opened up 4 league categories and watched the courts fill up with matches in the fall.

3. We had around 30 volunteers help out with the programs this year, and contribute approximately 1000 hours of volunteer time. This is so important to us, we hope to see many of you back in 2026.

2. We had a record number of participants in all our women’s and kids programs in 2025. We had 160 women this season, and around 1000 kids in the spring programs, summer programs and our events. Many newly introduced to this wonderful sport.

1. Our top moment we are so excited to share, and it will help us continue to run programs for years to come. Exciting details coming soon!

Do you have any favourite moments at the courts this year? We’d love to hear them!

I’ve been reflecting on my top moments of 2025 and have so many to choose from. I have narrowed it down to my top 10.

10. We put up our new A Love of Tennis sign on the front fence. We almost blew over doing it, but happy that everyone can see our brand from Smyth Road.

9. We launched a new ball recycling program to save balls from going into the landfill. They replaced our medals and we were able to give out decorated balls and boxes this year to save the balls, to highlight that every ball has a journey, and to write motivating messages on them.

8. We received confirmation we will be going into 3 local elementary schools in 2026 to introduce tennis to their gym classes thanks to a partnership with Tennis Canada.

7. We ran a Girls.Set.Match tiebreaker tournament in June with 30 girls to promote gender equity and girls matchplay.

6. Won tickets to the finals of the National Bank Open with my son to watch Vicky Mboko win the title. I was grateful to Nicole who volunteered to help with the kids programs so that I could go. What a match!

Our top 5 coming soon!

There is a lot to say about the joy of tennis. What keeps you coming back day after day, week after week hitting a ton of balls each one being a different shot. The connections you make, the friends you play with, the memories you keep and the joy you have.

There is a lot of joy by being on the courts. We love that we are able to offer this great sport to so many people. We offer no barriers to participation, we help create healthier communities, get volunteers involved and create a warm and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.

The most generous day in the world is coming Tuesday December 2nd. Please help us create amazing spaces for everyone to enjoy so we can continue changing so many lives in such a positive way.

The most generous day of the year is coming up on December 1st called giving Tuesday❤️. The generosity of spirit is an amazing gift when participants come to our courts they are passionate, laugh, connect and have fun. We see it in their smiles, the way they move to the ball running after every shot and their confidence builds day after day, week after week.

Thank-you for your amazing spirit and the difference you make everyday. It is such an honour to have you on court with us. With all your gained confidence I know you will do great things in life and we can’t wait to see what you can accomplish.

We are setting goals this year to refurbish both our sites which will make your community tennis courts an even more amazing place to be, so everyone can dream big and be surrounded in a nice environment. Please help us achieve our goals. We are looking to raise
$30,000, to make our dreams come to reality.
