Welcoming newcomers to Canada

Welcoming newcomers to Canada A platform for Canadians to help newcomers better integrate into their new "home" and to help newcomers learn more about Canada.

Newcomers enrich diversity in Canada and diversity is one of the strengths of this country. However, often time, the focus is more on what the newcomers need to learn/do to be a part of Canadian society. We are taking a different perspective; newcomers bring skills, experiences, culture etc. with them and we may want to learn a few things from them as well- making it a win-win situation. Outcome:

Canadians could learn more about the newcomers (e.g. skill/talents they already have) and their contributions to Canadian culture, society and economy. Newcomers would feel they are contributing to the society and economy.

Call it an online swap shop for people in need, and for people who need to unload. In this case, the people in need are refugees to the Ottawa area and the swap shop is called Homeful.ca.
