51 Canada Aviation and Space Museum Air Cadet Squadron Fun! Challenge! Adventure! The cadet program focuses on social development, decision-making and leadership. 51 - The place to be - the Squadron to Beat!

Royal Canadian Air Cadets participate in a variety of fun and challenging activities. There is something for everyone – no matter what their personal interests may be. The outdoor enthusiast will appreciate learning survival skills for flight crew. The athlete will appreciate physical education and recreation, including a variety of sporting activities like biathlon and Olympic-style marksmanship.

The artists will find their niche in the music program. The curious will appreciate the hands-on activities such as building model aircraft. The scholarly will appreciate an introduction to the various tools and technologies linked to aviation. The dreamers will appreciate the evolution of technology and the advancements of the aerospace era, including the importance of Canadian participation. Select top senior cadets may even earn the chance to represent Canada on the world stage by participating in an international exchange. Most importantly, Air Cadets aids in developing knowledge of Canadian history and democracy. The cadet program focuses on social development, decision-making and leadership. As cadets acquire skills and knowledge, they pass it along to younger cadets. Every cadet will have the chance to participate in flight activities, and some top senior cadets may even earn a scholarship to obtain their private pilot’s licence. Whether earning a glider pilot licence or private pilot licence, these cadets wear their wings with a pride rarely found in today’s youth.

The squadron’s Annual Ceremonial Review will be Saturday, May 30th. All cadets should plan to be there to celebrate their accomplishments during this training year.

To help the museum manage its capacity limits, the indoor parade will be restricted to one parent or guardian per family. If weather allows us to hold the parade outdoors, this restriction will not apply. Please reserve your spot using the link provided below check the website the evening before for the final weather call.

Please note that the route for this Saturday’s Walkathon has changed due to ongoing area flooding.

📍 Meeting Location: Manor Park (Hemlock Rd and Thornwood Rd)
🕘 Arrival Time: Saturday, May 2, 9:00 AM

Cadets should:

- Bring a water bottle
- Dress appropriately for the weather conditions
- Be prepared for an outdoor 8km walk

Parents are not required to stay during the event. Cadets may be picked up anytime after they have completed the walk, before 2pm.

At the end of the walk, pizza lunch will be available for $5, which includes:
🍕 Pizza (cheese, halal pepperoni, or vegetarian)
🥤 Pop
🍪 Fresh baked chocolate chip cookie

Payment can be made by cash or Tap.

Please note that walkathon donations will continue to be accepted until next Wednesday.

Cadets are asked not to bring their donations with them to the Walkathon itself.

We look forward to a great day together!
