World Refugee Day is just around the corner on June 20, and we have curated a toolkit of resources to help you and your church prepare.

Since the UN first marked this day in 2000, it has been an important opportunity to recognize the blessings refugees bring to our communities, while educating ourselves on the growing global refugee crisis.

We live in a world where fear of "the other" often dominates the headlines, and forced displacements continue to climb. As the Church—the body of Christ—how are we called to respond?

The Thrive Justice team, the Centre for Public Dialogue, and World Renew invite your congregation to recognize World Refugee Day throughout the month of June. Whether you participate through worship, acts of advocacy, or building community, this toolkit provides practical resources to help you stand with refugees and honour them as fellow image-bearers of Christ.

Our churches and our faith are so much stronger when we open our hearts to welcome our neighbors.

A room like this is a powerful reminder that everyday Canadians can have a voice in conversations about global hunger.

When Allison Hessels attended Canadian Foodgrains Bank s Hunger on the Hill event, she saw how meaningful it can be to learn, reflect, and speak with leaders about the needs of neighbours around the world.

This October, Hunger on the Hill will once again gather people in Ottawa to build advocacy skills, learn more about global food security, and discuss Canada’s role in responding to hunger shaped by conflict, climate change, and injustice.

Whether advocacy is new to you or something you have cared about for years, your voice matters.

Help us get to 200 signatures as we call on the Government of Canada to turn clean energy promises into real action.

Building an east-west electricity grid will help provinces phase out coal, share renewable energy, and protect our global neighbours from the impacts of climate change. The government committed to this project in the 2025 election, and now it's time to fund it.

Add your voice and help us hit our goal: https://loom.ly/yLqqYB4

As global communities invest deeply in climate mitigation and adaptation, Canada also has a responsibility to cut back on harmful carbon emissions, and to do our fair share to make changes that will slow the advance of climate change and lessen the natural disasters that devastate at home and abroad...

When people are forced to leave home, hunger often follows close behind.

Ahead of World Refugee Day, Canadian Foodgrains Bank is hosting a webinar to help us better understand the connection between forced migration and food security, and how Christians can respond with compassion, prayer, giving, learning, and advocacy.
World Renew’s Jon Self will be joining as a panelist, along with Canadian Foodgrains Bank and member staff, to share how communities around the world are responding to hunger and displacement.

Join us on June 17 at 7PM EST as we learn together and consider how we can support people forced to flee their homes.
