The Special Representative outlined her campaign Prove It Matters, which invites children affected by war to send messages to leaders, folded into origami doves, the universal symbol of peace.

Vision GRAM-International is concernedabout the future of girls andvwomen in the armed violence zones in Eastern of DRCongo.

"Just under half of the victims Reuters spoke to were minors, 22 in all. The youngest to be r***d was a 10-year-old child. Ten of the girls recounted being assaulted alongside their sisters or mothers".

M23 rebels and other fighters in Congo are using sexual violence as a weapon of war. Child survivors share their stories of gang r**e, sexual slavery and abuse.

The implementation of this emergency assistance project for women members of SILCs took place under conditions of ongoing war.
Despite these challenges, Vision GRAM–International (VGI) successfully mobilized its teams and resources to deliver life-saving assistance to affected women and their families.

Ils sont enfants et pas Soldats.
L'est de la RDCongo regorge d'un nombre important d’enfants associés aux forces et groupes armés.
Depuis la recrudescence de la guerre, les enfants sont recrutés et utilisés par les groupes armés M23 et autres milices.
Vision GRAM-International appelle les groupes armés concernés à protéger les enfants et à les démobiliser.

Vision GRAM-International au chevet des femmes survivantes de violences armées, membres des Silcs à Kalonge, Est de la RDCongo.
Un projet humanitaire ciblé pour apporter une assistance d’urgence aux populations les plus touchées, tout en posant les bases d’un relèvement progressif.
Privées de leurs sources de revenus pendant la guerre à l'est de la RDCongo depuis février 2025, ces fenmes sont confrontées à une insécurité alimentaire aiguë et à une vulnérabilité socio-économique accrue.

Vision GRAM-International at the bedside of women survivors of armed violence, members of the SILCs in Kalonge, Eastern DR Congo.
A targeted humanitarian project designed to provide emergency assistance to the most affected populations, while laying the foundations for gradual recovery.
Deprived of their sources of income during the war in Eastern DR Congo since February 2025, these women are facing acute food insecurity and increased socio-economic vulnerability.

The meeting comes as African conflicts become increasingly complex and dynamic, including the expansion of transnational armed groups, mass displacement, cyber-recruitment, and deepening community vulnerabilities.

According to the event organizers, Africa remains one of the regions most affected by child recruitment, necessitating renewed regional mobilization and cooperation.

Morocco will host Africa’s first ministerial conference dedicated to the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) of child soldiers on Thursday in Rabat, an event aimed at strengthening coordination and advancing continental initiatives to address the crisis of child militarization.
